The old record was held by Ralph King, Riverdale, 2001 with 43 rushing touchdowns.

 

Alcoa's JaRon Toney broke that record tonight against Elizabethton. Toney entered the game tied with King at 43 TD's. JaRon's 4 TD's put his total at 47..............a new TN state record!

Very impressive accomplishment for Jaron! All we need is a few more big TD's next week from him and that should cap off this memorable season in style.

 

And BTW, I have heard virtually no talk about Jaron's recruitment. With the talent he has, the school he attends, the numbers he's put up this year, the grades he gets, and the overall character of the young man I can't believe numerous schools aren't lining up for his services. Can my fellow Alcoa fans enlighten me on any major looks or offers he's received?

If I'm not mistaken, Jaron also broke the dual (passing/rushing) touchdown last night as well. That's 2 (count them...2) records broken last night.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer kid...he doesn't take full credit for his milestones...he gives all the credit to the line for giving him the holes. Even gave his MVP trophy from the Maryville game to the O-Line.
