NEWBEE
Losing starting quarterback and backfield. Also have to replace center, tight end, and some receivers. Also have to replace several on defense. The upcoming players had good records in middle school. What's your outlook for next season? THE REBEL ROWDY CROWD Westview's second string QB has moved to McKenize to play QB for the Rebels. The story is that he will take over as the starter. I thought there were some underclassmen QB's already on the McKenzie team playing second and third string. I can tell you for a FACT that the kid is starting school in McK in January. Has anyone heard this?? I have seen this QB play, and he only played when Westview was way ahead and all the starters where on the sidelines. He did not play any other position on the field. IMO, as a soph, if you are a super talent, you will be playing somewhere, even if you arent starting QB. Last year Coady started a Sophmore QB, and he got hurt - he was back healthy this year and will be back next year. He's does a great job, and their second string QB wasnt going to see any game time til his Sr. year, so he moved to McKenzie. I am not sure if this is true about him getting the starting position - it's hard to believe that the McKenzie coach would say that. There's no way he has ever seen him play, because he only played a few minutes of a few 4th quarters while Westview was winning and the Mercy Rule was in effect. I just wondered if anyone has heard this and what the McKenzie folks think? I have heard that he will be the starter, i also heard luke robertson quit the team....... I heard this from some of the graduating class they also said that Thompson from huntingdon will be playing with the rebels next season...... slimshady
Is 2010 soon enough Butchie? The Rebels are better than BB,and you could have easily beaten TC. If this team stays focused,I think they get it done. ............

Butchie
I Waited Til I Knew The Facts Before I Replied. Luke Robertson Is Still With The Rebels. He Has Not Quit, Nor Has He Threatened It. He Has Bided His Time, And Worked Hard For The Quarterback Position. And Comer Has Brung This Young Man Along To Step Into This Position. And You Guys Must Think Mckenzie Is A Peyton Place, And Changes Horses On A Whim. We Did Not Get To Where We Are by Making Stupid Decisions. And To Think That Comer Would Promise A Position To A Quarterback That Doesn't Know Our System, Our Coaches And Our Players Is Just Plain Stupid. I'm Sure There Are Alot Of TSSAA Issues That Would Have To Be Squashed For Such A Move. And I For One Don't See It Happening. And For You Rumor Starters, You Need To Research Your Facts Before Ya Post.

As for the quarterback situation, I'm not divulging information as I'm not entirely sure, but from what I know, the kid from Westview didn't move to McKenzie to be a back up when he could have stayed at Martin and stayed a back up. As for TSSAA rules, he lives in the city limits of McKenzie, which I believe makes him eligible to play.
watcheroplays
you are correct...he did not move to mckenzie to stand on the sidelines. he could have stood on the sidelines at westview and would have been the starter in 2011. he moved to mckenzie and is going to school there so he can play. he did not play any other position at westview which would say that as a sophmore, he is not a standout athlete. the qb at westview started as a soph and coady plays sophs when they are talented. it is not a rumor. only the coach and the kid and the parents knows what the deal is, but they just built a huge house in martin, his dad has a practice in martin, they have other kids in school in martin. IMO you dont move a kid out of westview to mckenzie to stand on the sidelines when they can do that where they are.
Butchie
The Kid From Westview Will Have To Earn The Position. But Whoever Gives Us The Best Chance Of Winning Will Get The Job.

Zeke, I believe his name is, was never 'promised' the starting position. He's obviously gonna have to work hard this Spring and Summer in catch up mode but whoever the starter is will obviously be the best quarterback. Coach Comer has a reputation of producing good quarterbacks so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this summer.

And Ole Randy Better Stick Around If Comer Leaves.
watcheroplays
You have a good coach and hard working kids. They proved that against their opponents (including us...westview) this year!! I have no doubt the best kid for the spot will get the spot! Zeick will have to work hard to get the job, and if he does then he deserves it. Best of luck to the Rebels...except against the Chargers, of course.
