for your information smacktalker03 both teams played their hearts out. you must not know us like you think you do just wait til we play yal. we might not have been good in the past few years but as we stepped up in a new group of teams we knew we had to work just as hard and thats what we did. no matter which team plays better or worse. the only thing that matters is when the game is over with and you look at the scoreboard and you are ahead. Hendersonville is an extremely good team but i can promise you one thing they didnt want that win more than we did. we may be the underdogs now but at the end of the season you will see this thing called the cinderella story happen cause we fight til the end. if yal think you are going to run all over us then you might want to reconsider that cause we are here to win.

I almost feel bad for Portland... because now they have a target on their back and have somewhat lost their 'underdog' status already. Every quality opponent that is scheduled to play Portland now is going to take them seriously just because they nabbed one against the Big Brother from this area.

 

The underdog role can really help a team out throughout the season and catch good teams by suprise... but people know now, that portland may not be the greatest team around, but youll forsure want to take them seriously

 

*On another note, knowing the Hendersonville program and what is expected of them, i fully expect them to bounce back very quickly. Im going to make a trip down to Hville on Tuesday and see how they respond against Beech in another district game.

All I have to say to that is they you must not be familiar with the Hendersonville program. Teams in the past have come to upset them. It happens almost every year for this team. Im not taking anything away from Portland. They did a great job and won against the projected top team in the district. But I wouldn't be so quick to say that you will win the next match. Just looking at the history, if a team upsets Hville, the next match is not so pretty. Lavergne in 07 upset = 4-0 win by Hville the next time they played. Mt. Juliet in 08 upset = 4-0 win by Hville the next time they played. Im not saying that Portland cant be the cinderella team here... But it will be the hardest games of their lives when a Hville team comes back to punish the underdog who took them by surprise. Good luck to both teams.

That is very true, if hendersonville plays portland again they will be out for some blood. The best thing for portland to do is not get big headed. Sure you might have beat the #4 team, Rejoice a day.....or maybe even two. Then you have to turn around and get to work even harder then before. You now have the target on your back (its a big target). Portland played a outstanding game, they will have to do that every match they play this season. Come district time Hendersonville will want there payback (if portland plays them). Portland its a new week focus on the future not the past. You too Hendersonville that loss is done with prepare for the upcoming games.

Game was canceled because of rain
