Coffee County Girls

Freshman team was 19-0. Varsity went to region for the first time in several years so give the man a chance. The players and coaches in the sports programs are my friends and we need to give each more than a couple of years to win. Get behind the whole program and see what happens. Positive feedback to coaches and players is needed in the athletic programs, parents and fans this means you.

I wish the freshman young ladies and other young ladies nothing but the best, but being 19 - 0 in freshman basketball is a not the same as varsity basketball, not taking anything away from the freshman young ladies accomplishments, but you have got to be real. As for being in the region for the first time in a few years, lets not forget that coffee county changed districts this year , going from a far better district with 8 teams to a weaker one with 5, making it a lot easier to qualify for the region tournament being that you only have to finish next to last to qualify. Same thing in football, remember coffee county finished 3 - 7 and was in the playoffs. In my opinion coffee county needs to start looking at the facts and start realizing that just because u qualify for the playoffs or region does not mean u have a winning program or that u are making progress, maybe it just simply means that things have gotten a little bit easier. As for keeping coaches around for a while to see what they can do,

im all for it, but lets remember some of u folks are the same ones that wouldnt get behind the whole program and support the last coach that was here if i remember correctly.

If you are refering to me you know who I am and support every coach including golf. LOL. I guess I'm a homer unlike you who I guess is a wanna be coach. I've been a part of the Coffee Co. program for 18 years in some way and want us to win in every sport but it's hard unless we leave the coaching to coaches. Maybe that's why we have a big turnover in basketball (girls) and football. We leave other coaches alone and they win.

Dont know who u are, and only u know whether im refering to u or not, (past posts). Have been part of the program for longer than 18 years in some form or fashion, and have been a coach, just not at coffee county central high school. Part of the problem may be that in basketball and football the head coach has to be a school employee or maybe not, who knows, but one thing is certain and that is he has not won, 17 -40 over 2 seasons. From my viewing of games he hasnt even been able to get anybody to set or come off of a pick correctly since he has been here, such a very important part of any offense and one of the easiest to teach.

District 8 is stronger than district 6 but NO team made it past region semi-finals over there this year.

Still think you have to put the ball in the hole and score more points than the opponents to win.

Coach Muckle average 0.0 points per game from the sideline.

Too many missed layups and free throws and I KNOW that they practice those things every day.

You cant have more than one head coach on the team.

Amen. I was trying to ignore "crimson" but......I saw a lot of improvement in the team as the year went on. Granted, the team stumbled a bit down the stretch, but they are still learning how to take care of their business in some regards. Also, 3 of the last 4 losses came against good PROGRAMS,not just good teams. Coach Muckle is trying to build a program. A parent told me at an elementary school game that Coach and some volunteers had organized AAU teams with kids from every age group from 9 years old to the high school level and that Coach Muckle was coaching either the 10 or 11 year olds himself. He is obviously putting in the time and effort and no one disputes his knowledge so the detractors and ones with personal agendas should get behind the coaches and the kids and support them.

Some other blocks being built.

Ur right , he cant do it for them , but it is his responsibility to teach in such a manner , so that the kids can understand his style and what he wants to accomplish, if he cant communicate that to the players , then he is not a head coach. have u really watched practice any for the last 2 years?

I think you are part of the problem over at Coffee County and I can only guess that you are a parent who is not happy. If you have been with the program for more than 18 years then maybe since you think you know about head coaching, you ought to apply for the job....Excuse me, I don't think you are qualified so therefore, I think you need to quit throwing stones at other coaches. You evidently are not happy with anyone that comes over there to try to help the girls get better. Have you ever thought that it is not the coach communication that is lacking, it may be parents like you that cause the kids to rebel against authority. I teach my children to respect authority because that is the right thing to do. I have the utmost respect for coaches because not only do they have to try and teach their kids, they have to deal with parents just like you.......I believe that we need to let the coaches do their jobs and stand behind them as parents and APPRECIATE THAT THEY ARE TAKING THE TIME TO TEACH THEM!!!
