cofo
What is next for the Henry County football team. They graduated over 30 seniors, and from my memory, I would say they lost 18-19 starters. Is it going to be a rebuilding year for the Patriots. If experience is as important as believed, I would have a hard time thinking that Henry County will not take some lumps in 2010. The learning curve will need to be accelerated for the young Patriots. I have heard they have very capable players but little game time experience. Thoughts? [/quoteany news of the outcome of the HC-Milan scrimmage tonight?
olddevil
Very interesting and long scrimmage. Final score was 21-21. Hc's last score was by our younger kids against thier youngsters' Milan's last score was against our second and thisd units. Both teams showed considerable promise and should have successful seasons. More later. GO BIG RED
RedSwarm10
21-21 sounds like it was a decent scrimmage. Did anyone on our squad stand out? And I'm really curious as to which one of our RB's is looking the best. I hear it's Montevaious Finch, but I also hear other people saying it's Shaquille Allen. The offensive line is improving daily but ,as yet, haven't completely jelled.( getting Jelks back will speed that process). Until then it is hard to really evaluate the backs. Allen was probably used the most and made some nice runs showing his expected power. Finch had a 50 yd scamper that was a thing of beauty and a couple of other short runs in limited exposure. Reggie Tharpe had a couple of dandy runs and Jamari Curtis was impressive with speed and power. Those and others give the coaches a pleasant problem in choosing just who is best. Same problem with QBs: all three showed moments of brilliance. The recievers have been a very pleasant surprise and could be as good as any we have had. Go BIG RED That's good, sounds like we're going to have some very nice depth at RB and QB. I've only been to a few practices but i've seen and heard nothing but good things about the receivers as well. I will say that from what i've seen (which I'll admit isn't much) that I've been impressed with our defensive line. I think we'll have a pretty solid team this year. Go BIG RED One of the backs has been in some trouble and his attendance at practice is an issue. He will hopefully get on track. I think this team has a chance to go far. I have watched practice once and attended the scrimmage. I am impressed.

I think this team has a chance to go far. I have watched practice once and attended the scrimmage. I am impressed. I am impressed also. I think the coaches will work with our youth and little game experience and the boys will get better and better. I do have a question though: What's your point with talking about the boy that has been in trouble and also calling out his attendance as an issue? You say you have watched one practice and the scrimmage correct? I guess that "back" missed that one practice that you attended or you are once again not telling the truth and you are at practice often! I know what you are going to tell me. You are going to say that that is the word at the lake.
snowplow2010
I was able to attend the Milan scrimmage and I felt pretty good after. There were several bright spots that I would expect the coaches to build on. There were the usual first scrimmage mistakes that I would expect the coaches to fix before we open up with Liberty. I won't be able to make the scrimmage this week, but hopefully we can improve and continue to get better. Liberty is a tough team and should have beat us last year if it weren't for the players refusing to lose. Keep us posted about practice and the upcoming scrimmage. Armstrong82
hey Henry County!...question...are there any Hudson boys in the pipeline up there? My dad played with Bill @ Memphis State (then) in the early 60s and we used to see Ross (UTM), Todd (UTM - passed away), and John (Auburn) each summer growing up. I'm curious. Anybody know? Wayne Armstrong 615-796-1118 by the way - good luck this year

The overall news is very good. What can be your problem? The team looks very good. Do you think this team is void of any problem at all? If that's what you think, then you know nothing at all about teenagers!

The other Hudson boys are college age or older by now.
