The Gold ball will be in West Tennessee next Sunday!!!!Congrats to the teams that made it.. would love to see GC and WV for the 5th time, this time for the title!!

 

Nothing would be better than Rd. 5 of GC/WV. I'm just not set on McMinn Central. If they lost practically their whole starting 5 from last year, I'm just not sure they can knock off a state semi-final experienced team of Westview in the semi's. I've said it from the get-go. There WILL be 5 rounds of Gibson Co. v. Westview this year!

This is true. As a McMinn Central follower I am proud of this team. They are young, with a some good senior leaders. I was looking for a rebuilding year- but don't count this bunch out, if they are on they are hard to stop. Future is still bright- reloading for the next few years once again. Congrats to all the teams that advanced this year.

Central went nine or ten deep last year. Coach used several different starting lineups.

Gibson County over CPA (if CPA had been drawn in the other bracket, I think they could have made the Championship Game).

 

South Greene over Polk County (South Greene's experience and guard play should get them through)

 

Westview over Lewis County (could be over really early; Lewis doesn't match-up well inside, and they don't really have anyone capable of shutting down Rechis)

 

McMinn Central over Greeneville (should be the closest game of the first round and could go either way)

Wednesday @ 4:00 - CPA v. Gibson Co.

 

Wednesday @ 5:30 - Polk Co. v. South Greene

 

Thursday @ 10:00 - Lewis Co. v. Westview

 

Thursday @ 11:30 - Greeneville v. McMinn Central

 

Round 1 (quarterfinals) prediction:

Gibson County over CPA

South Greene over Polk County

Westview over Lewis County

McMinn Central over Greenville

      From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated

      Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
