TI did't get the job at Shelbyville and its likely its good he didn't. not that he could'nt handle it but a Teacher needs to teach and if he is also a coach, he needs to coach. That has to be his passion. However his passion goes further than that as he has not so quietly built a small empire with the help of a shoe company who knew of his skills of organization and contacts to be where he is today and many are waiting to see how its handled. He has to be a smart guy.

Nike does a lot of great things for young people. the last I checked they have 12 exposure camps for kids fixing to enter College/Universities and have connections with about 9 organizations with sub organizations for some of the best players in the country in Girls Basketball. TI is named head coach of one of those org anizations and has as asst's Lynn Burkey, recently named asst Coach MTSU, Cory Barrett head coach at Hickman County, Frank Oliver head Coach at a high school in Washington DC, Mark Riley head coach with an AAU club in new York City, Coach Baish asst AD at Mercy Academy in Louisville Ky, and John Dawson asst coach at Memphis Central, memphis.

In Tennessee his affiliations are with Pride in Murfreesboro, Tennessee Flight Select in Knoxville, and Tennessee lady Trotters. All of these may have some connections with Nike except Pride and Trotters. They all have some of the best players in Tennessee. They are coached by High School and AAU coaches. This is a great organization and their mission is to get players to college/universities that can help them thru schools.

Most of these organizations do start with players in Middle schools and work up the scale with their play by age group.

I am going to stop there because some of these teams are composed with players thruout the US. It does not mean some of these players wind up on other teams or anything like that but the organization is main point of emphasis.

Ti did not get the job at Shelbyville. He got the job at Franklin County. Shelbyville still has the connection with Nike Silver. They like many high schools have players playing on Nike teams. The best high school teams in the State have a lot of players on Nike/AAU teams but the connection stops when it gets to the TSSAA and the transfer rules are very clear about moving. My question is to Indian, with the situation the way it is about all of the players playing together and the transfer rules the way they are, what should be changed to keep from leaving the impression that a school has more of an advantage if they emphasize summer play more. The other question is who really pays the bill for all of this. And the third question is, with all of the nuiasances of transferring now and coaches being intimately attuned to the rules and even middle school kids being advised by the current generation of coaches who likely some are high school coaches, are the rules strong enough or are fans fanatic enough that they should just lean back and see what happens in these cases.

:roflolk:, without a doubt, the Coach has more pressure on him than anyone in Tennessee. Would you like to be in his shoes?? Would the Franklin County/Shelbyville matchups be full house, overflow crowd event??? District 8AAA with all of the color, now again has become an interesting game time event with just adding a colorful coach who a number are just waiting to watch what he does especially against the school 40 miles down the road. He grew up there and went to school there. Is he motivated? You betcha. Is he a little bit concerned? I would think so. But he can't change his name. That's who he is.

The Nike center of TN has moved to the Knoxville area. Adidas has moved into the AAU picture.
