Dyer County vs. Dyersburg

Recommended Posts

Know what, stevieray......I'm converted! You've convinced me that the way to handle this is to stir every fan of Dyersburg football into a frenzy to oust the coach as soon as possible, before the next game even!Coach Stowe has had plenty of time to win a championship, heck how long does it take to implement a new playbook anyhow,a whole season? He DID afterall, walk into a loaded team last season, nevermind that the QB broke his foot.....his arm was allright,no need to run the ball so much, huh? That buisness of losing his dad was unavoidable, sure but lets keep it in perspective.....cant lose our focus on the game,OK(I mean good grief, this aint jr. high were talkin'bout here, this is the real deal). If we act fast the season might still be salvaged,as only one game ha been thrown down the tubes so far,so lets drum up some support from the parents, and until a GOOD coach can be found, maybe they'll tell their kids how to play on their own! With a little luck, and some help from some REAL fans who are as smart as us,we can return this program to where it was before coach Stowe got here!Imagine losing to Dyer Co.(sure we beat'em last year, but that was luck),I mean we have to have better athletes,we kill'em at all the other sports,so what gives?Come on Dyersburg faithful, throw in and help us right the ship,OK?

Ripley will swap Coach Pelligrino for Coach Stowe.

The administration at Dyersburg HS, Dyer County HS, or most other High Schools will not fire a coach simply because he does not win all of his games.

If a Coach goes 0-10 several years in a row, more than likely he is done, and he knows it. Coach Stowe will be given a far shake and opportunity by the administration, regardless of what I or other fans think.

Coach Stowe and Renshaw are equally as competent as most of the coaches in this area. Yes, there are “few†who are far better, and a “few†who are far worst. Guys like Counce, Morris, Cody, Ward, Comer, Pratt, are hard to come by.

On a brighter note, something positive, and I mean VERY POSITIVE, is coming for Dyersburg Football in the near future. I suspect hints will be revealed in the next 10 days in the State Gazette.

Stir em up?..Did you check the ATTENDANCE on the Dyersburg side for Friday nights game?...Stowe is a GOOD MAN..Just because you are a GOOD MAN..doesn't mean you are a GOOD COACH..I wish the man NO ILL WILL, but do I think he is a GOOD FOOTBALL COACH..No..Does he know FOOTBALL?..I am sure he does..Does he command discipline and respect?...If he did..Some of these kids wouldn't PULL some of the bone headed stunts they do..."ON AND OFF THE FOOTBALL FIELD"...

The brighter note is that Dyersburg won't have to deal with the Choctaws, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY in any sports. You heard it here first.

stevierayvol,g :thumb: ame over,D.C. won, just as predicted. You've admitted that Bart is a good man,who knows football(though he's a better man than you suspect, and has forgotten more about winning football than most people will ever learn).Dyersburg fans, including yourself should feel blessed that your youth are in good hands. No hard feelings toward anyone,as you've "kept it clean",while disagreeing with me and you have my respect for that.I believe that with support the program there could be special,if you do not, well thats your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it.If you'd care to learn more about the state of the program there, there's an article in the gazette that you can pull up where the resident sportswriter interviewed Coach Stowe, and went from an opinion similar to yours,to making a 180 degree turn.Good luck with your season, hope everything turns out well for all involved. :thumb:

And that will be a shame on both schools involved..Like I said earlier..look at Maryville -Alcoa..only a couple miles apart. The two best schools year in and year out in Tenn. They just played last Friday night and Alcoa won by 4 points.Several have said it's the best game they have seen. Was back and forth..No team had a larger lead than 4 points. Are their students different than Dyersburg and Dyer Co?

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
