Halls @ Powell

Just wondering what Powell's and Hall's strengths are this year. I know Halls has O'Laughlin, but I don't know much more about them and Powell I don't have a clue.

I was impressed with the Powell/Fulton outcome and it sounded like Powell had their way. Hall's looks a little out of sorts after the Sevier Co game. I know this game will be a battle though. Good luck to both teams.

Powell likes to pound the ball on offense, but they also have the ability to pass the ball all over the field, especially out of the spread-read offense.

What has impressed me the most about Powell after two games has to be their ball security and improved defense, both up front and in the secondary. They played excellent team defense against Fulton, preventing the Falcons from making the big play. I thought that Fulton's size up front would really cause problems for Powell, and the Panthers overcame that. Plus, it helps that the Panthers continue to run a two-platoon system, which seems to keep both units fresh.

HTV will definitely be able to give you more details than me.

Powell can definitely score some points, but they have to continue to play great team defense, especially if they want to beat teams like OR and AC.

Halls will go as far as O'Laughlin will carry them, if his shoulder is not good to go then this game will be out of hand.

Love to see O'laughlin moving his feet and cutting and hope he recovers quickly, but there are other very talented players that can move the ball. Of course, we need a little more, no ALOT more blocking than we did last week.

When Halls and Powell play it doesn't matter what the records are, who is supposed to be the better team, or where the game is being played. It is always close. In fact, only once in the 2000s has the game been decided by double digits. Powell is 7-3 against Halls in the last 10, but their biggest margin of victory in those 7 wins has been 7 points. There is no reason to believe that Thursday night's game won't follow that same trend of close games.

I agree. Halls and Powell is one of the best rivalrys in Knoxville. It doesn't matter how better one is than the other it will be close. This game is one of the most emotional games of the year even the career of most of these young players and it is likely that the game will be close for four quarters.

Yes, he has a shoulder injury. Whether it is serious enough to keep him out or not is yet to be determined, from what I understand.

O'laughlin has a lot of skill and natural talent yes i agree, BUT if you notice he's not done a thing since his sophmore year. You can argue all day and say he was hurt but the fact is he didnt do a single thing last year before he got hurt....

the other key players would definitely be brady brown, logan stansberry, and jared long without a doubt.

Injuries or no injuries, it takes more than one player to win a game. O'laughlin plays tonight and hoping for a good night, Stansberry unfortunately is out for at least six weeks, we do have some on the line back - -Two most consistent players are Brown and Long. Henley has stepped it up and is pretty aggressive and making some good plays as well as the Delaney. Now-will add that it also depends on if the coach decides to mix it up and if Williams can get the plays called in without delay of game penalties. Hoping all boys stay safe and come out with no more injuries. Looking forward to a usual Halls vs Powell game! So Good Luck and lets go guys!
