How bout “Rocky Topâ€â€¦. I love to here that song at the games because it usually means we have scored.

On a serious note though… I think this game will be won or loss at the line of scrimmage. I don’t think either team has a clean cut advantage at skilled positions or athleticism… but from what I saw Friday with the Vikings, and from what Toss says… I think the O line that rises to the occasion will win the battle under the (NEW) lights. I can’t wait to see the new field!! This is by most accounts a rebuilding season for the Vikings. Lots of young players filling big shoes and gaining valuable experience this year. ;)

I WAS THINKING MORE LIKE {{CRY ME A RIVER}}}Your band know any JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE??? :thumb:

Looking forward to seeing you guys coming to town Friday night Cap1. I know TH is ALWAYS strong in the trenches. Games are certainly won and loss there. In all honesty, we have big strong OL, strong speedy backs, quick footed qb with a pretty good arm with good receivers. But, just can't seem to put it all together. Maybe expecting to much to soon out of Stacy Carter?

Yeah, were excited about the new stadium, new coaching staff and all this hoopla and this 4-0 thing going on. But, I don't think anyone here in Johnson City is thinking we are "all that". And the #7 ranking in 6A?? Uhh, well . . . Thanks for the respect, but don't think it is deserved, "yet". Just trying to be real.

Absolutely agree. This week will be a true test for both teams, more so for Science Hill. I remember Scott Smith's first year on the hill. Started the season 3-0 and had a good TN High team coming into memorial stadium. It was a good hard fought game, tied at 10 late in the 4th qtr. Everyone thinks that TN High is going to take a knee and go into overtime, but instead they connect on a 40 something yard TD pass as time expires to win 16-10. Science Hill never recovered and the Scott Smith train derailed right then and there. Science Hill finished the year 3-7 after a 3-0 start, and of course the rest is history.

Am I saying this one game is going to define Carter's success while at Science Hill? Of course not. But it will be a great barometer for how the team has progressed thus far and how they react going forward.

I've been going to Science Hill games since 1998 and I can see a complete turnaround in terms of attitude and the team’s product on the field. As another poster said, we Science Hill folks are cautiously optimistic.

As far as the poll goes, that thing is only as accurate as the representation of voters. I didn't see who voted this week, but last week, the JC Press, Elizabethton Star, the Morristown Citizen Tribune, and the Chattanooga Times Free Press all voted; all papers representing teams that have played and been beaten by Science Hill. Coach Carter's reutation might also be inflating the ranking as well. Being a 4-0 team, beating 3 quality opponents, and having Stacy Carter as your head coach sure doesn't hurt.

I agree with Cap on this post.... Stacy knew it was "TIME" to leave... Love the jingle! I would like to make this game b/c I think it will be a great one, but have to go see the Devils play at Rebel Hill. See you next week Cap at the Castle!

I wish I could say I was looking forward to the Greendevils coming to town... but that would be a flat out lie. Maybe I'll feel a little different after seeing what the Vikings can really do. See you next week. :thumb: I would love to see Greeneville and DB play this year. That would be our local Maryville vs Alcoa type matchup! :popcorneater: But DB is to busy playing State powerhouses like Clinton and Seveir Co. :roflol:

Good post! :thumb: I totally agree. IMO Science Hill has more to lose in this game for the same reasons you stated in your post. And it's my understanding that a loss would count against them in a playoff birth.

Tennessee High is 5A.

Andybody know th all-time series record? I check CoachT for the last 9 years and that is closer than I would have expected. Vikings hold a 5-4 advantage since 2201 and have gone 3-2 in games played at the old stadium in JC.

Tennessee High leads the series with 50 wins 36 losses and 4 ties.

Cap, I don't think it happens like that this year. The Hill has to finish first or second in the disctrict for an automatic playoff berth, but even if they only win two more games, the chances of them making the playoffs are pretty high.

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
