Actually, there was only 1 technical....the refs played a huge factor in this game...Forrest certainly didn't foul any more than MC...but seemed to be called for many more....it was a very aggressive game on both sides. One of the Forrest girls got a bloody lip from the Garland girl and nothing was called. The Forrest posts did a great job holding Raby to 1 point. It wasn't Forrest's night..and to beat MC, they have to hit their 3s. I'm sure they will reload and be ready for next time. Good luck against Jackson County.

Moore County wins by 13.. Forrest looked alright but foulded ALOT they had like 4 technicals which killed them.. one of the twins #21 was very good at 3's..

Well, apparently, its not a foul if they don't call it!

It was a very physical game MC came out early and set the tempo thats there Game play physical defense that tends to breakdown the weak not saying that happened but It helped MC alot. As far as te girl with the busted lip couldnt really tell what happened. The MC pt guard was making it look worse then it really was.

If Moore Co. gets Garland and Kight more consistant from the three point line to compliment Vanns inside out game since she was the most consistant outside scorer last year then i dont think anybody can touch them regardless of who is runnin the point. No reason they sholdnt make it back t o the finals and bring in the gold ball!

We'll see how good they are fairly soon. I see these two playing in the championship game in the MidSouth Classic next week.

Forrest out shot MC 40-34 from the field. Forrest had 8-2 pt and 8-3's compared to MC 14-2's and 2-3's. The difference was from the free throw line. MC was 26 of 32, when Forrest was 7 of 9. Garland is good at driving the paint and drawing fouls. Forrest didn't have a player that wanted to get in her way and draw the hard foul. That the way that you stop her, is get her in foul trouble. Rebounding was a problem, too. Didn't get our bodies on them, but Coach Jean will look at tape and continue to work on fixing these two part of the Lady Rockets game. Even though he start 5 seniors, they lack game experience as playing together. I think by tournament time this team will be alot stronger at post and understand what it takes to win. They just need more playing time together. Good luck at MTCS on Monday. GO LADY ROCKETS :thumb::thumb: PS: The game will be broadcast on WJJM 94.3 FM and WJJM.com

  • 3 weeks later...

After the break it looks like Moore Co. by alot. Forrest slightly better than the rest. Eagleville playing better than expected. Cascade not far behind. Huntland then Community. MTCS has been the biggest disappointment but still far better than Boyd. Hope we have more interest on here the second half. Where is the Forrest crowd?

ECU: so your prediction is

1. Moore County

2. Forrest

3. Eagleville

4. Cascade

5. Huntland

6. Community

7. MTCS

8. Boyd

Is that correct?

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
