I don't think CPA would go to DII unless they would have too. I do not believe they could compete in the big school bracket and the small school bracket would not be challenging enough in football. In the long run it could hurt them.

CPA would win or have to beat one or maybe two teams for the DII-A title in football every year.

 

I would have to agree with RicFlare on this one. The smaller bracket doesn't offer the competition week-in and week-out. There are certainly some good teams, but overall it isn't all that tough.

I would certainly agree with this statement. In following Webb the past two seasons, since the reclassification, I have seen most all of the Middle/East teams and a few from the West and there is a huge competitive difference from top to bottom in the Middle/East teams. The 3 teams I saw from the West last year, St. George's, ECS and USJ were all pretty similar so I'm not sure how the rest of the West teams compare. There are a few Middle/East teams that are very weak and as far as Webb's concerned they really don't offer much in the way of competition but instead provide valuable game experience and development for the JV players. Until which time the weaker teams get better I really don't see it changing very much.

 

By the way, isn't the next reclassification after this season? If so, it will be interesting to see how things may change in DII with new schools moving in/out and possible changes within the current DII A/AA enrollment cutoff.

I have heard the same thing about CPA making the move to DivII. It might be a wise move considering their current situation. It seems to me that they could benefit greatly from that move (as have several other smaller privates have).

 

What are the benefits?

After looking over the league I think the bulk of the strong programs are located in the West. I think ECS, St. George's, and USJ will all three will be top-tier teams in this league year-in and year-out. JCS, Harding Academy, Fayette Academy, SBEC and FACS are all solid teams capable of having very good years, JCS in particular.

 

Have FRA, Ezell, and DCA fallen off? They all three had some very good teams in the first half of this decade. That DCA team that ran over USJ in the 2004 semis and won the state title was great.

The upcoming year will not see a full reclassification, only shifts for schools with a 20% change in enrollment. Two years after that is a full reclassification.

What are the benefits?

 

 

The benefits are you get to play schools that are like you - enrollment and otherwise.

The benefits are that you do not get multiplied and have to play schools that are sometimes twice as big as you are (or in one case that I know at the end of the last 4 year classification - 3.2 times the size).

The benefits are that everytime you win a game - no one starts hurling the recruiting word and posting on here that you do not belong with them.

      We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.

      Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.

      I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.

      I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
