I agree to how it shakes out in Memphis and district 6 (don't see white co winning) but the TSSAA will be kicking themselves if 2 7AAA teams play for championship, BUT will claim it was a huge success for Cookeville, like they did last year...."Attendance up 10% in Cookeville vs. Murfreesboro" at the same time not wanting to mention that there were 20% more games last year.

What about 2 all Rutherford Co Quarter finals? That would be crazy, would be nice to play them at the same site.

The thing about Cookeville is that it only has a population of around 25,000 and is over an hour's drive from any major city in Tennessee. Now, I live in Nashville. So unless I have a dog in the fight I'm not driving all the way to Cookeville to see any game. Back when the games were played in Murfreesboro, and before that Nashville, I went to see to games just as a casual fan because it was reasonably close. So what I'm saying is, having the finals played in Cookeville is likely restricting games attendance to those fans who care about one team or another. I'm not saying the finals need to move back to Murfreesboro (although I would like that), but if the TSSAA cares about getting a good crowd at the games it needs to be moved to a larger city. But maybe they're happy with people viewing it on television.

There are some problems with Cookville hosting, but the biggest problem is the venue its self. There are many venues that offer better facilities for those attending. MTSU is a much better facility to host the game, plenty of room for press, sky boxes, and hospitality facilities for coaches and staff, Replay board, better halftime and pregame facilities for teams, these are but a few. Finley stadium would be the best venue for the state championships, perfect size with all the above facilities with better overall seating plus close to downtown to make a weekend out of it with plenty of hotels. To me it is a no brainer now that chattanooga lost the FCS game.

Looking at the TSSAA website, Dickson County should be in Quad 3

My Quad 4 predictions

1 Whitehaven vs. 8 Cordova or White Station

4 Wooddale vs. 5 Collierville

2 Brighton vs. 7 Germantown

3 Arlington vs. 6 Houston

Several of those schools are highly doubtful for even making the playoffs (ie. Houston, Germantown, Cordova). I don't forsee those 3 all getting in. 2 out of the three is still doubtful, I see maybe one out of 3 with a 5-5 record getting in. You have to remember that there are several possible 5-5 schools in East TN and Middle TN that will get in over these teams (Siegel, Lincoln Co., Rhea Co., etc.) simply because of the computer rankings (wins against better opponents). If these East/Middle TN schools get in, that will push the quadrants further west and will put Dickson Co. in Quad 4. More than likely Dickson will be in Quad 4.

Exactly, not many casual fan will not attend in Cookeville.

sounds like its possible by the last week of november only rutherford county will care as everyone else would be out lol

Well, the last week of November would be semi-finals, and the semi-finals would have 1 quad 1 and 1 quad 4 teams left, but the quarter finals could have 4 district 7 teams left out of 8.

Quad 3 is crazy!

They should put quad 3 at a neutral site and allow people to watch all the games, this will be a blood bath.

White Station does have to win this week to get into the playoffs.

I know in years past, that two teams from the same district can not play in the first round of the playoffs. If this is correct, then if WS wins we would play at Brighton.

Does anyone know if this still applies?

It doesn't apply anymore... If White Station wins and is the #2 team in the district they will be awarded with a first round game at Da Haven.

Thanks for the clarification...and i say quad 3 play at mtsu the whole time...mtsu would love the gate! and i know several people would love to see all the games going on from that quad

Years ago TSSAA allowed playing playoff games on other nights besides Fridays, when Oakland and Riverdale shared MTSU field. Doubt it would be done today, but I would pay to watch all 7 games in quad 3 the way it looks today. But I am betting Siegel is in, pushing RHS east.

    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
