But WG beat SG, and CD will have the opportunity this Friday. But I agree with you guys, CD will have a tough time making it out of the first round, if they play Besty, let alone making it out of their quad. They only beat WG by one point in a game that came down to the last second. I can bet on it that the Buffs would like another shot at the Black Knights. The best team in quad 1 is Austin East, then Elizabethton or Gatlinburg Pittman, not a team from the BRAC.

Ya'll lost me with the WG, SG, CD.

He said South Greene shouldn't be penalized for playing a tougher schedule than Chuckey Doak and West Greene, but West Greene already handed it to South Greene regardless of schedules. Chuckey Doak plays South Greene this week in a game that will probably be won by Chuckey Doak. That help? If both of them beat South Greene, you can't complain about schedules.

seein they both win 1st rd... cak vs polk could be the best game in the playoffs... must see game

I would love to see this game happen. I've not seen Polk play in person, but I have read alot about them on these boards. I wouldn't mind driving down and seeing your stadium and soaking up the small town football atmosphere as well. I'm sure there is some good grub too :hungry: But, depending on seeding, CAK may host. In that case, we'll fire up the grill and make an extra batch of nanner puddn. First things first though. We've just got to get through this Alcoa game on Thursday night with all our arms & legs intact and then find a way to win our first round!

I too think this would be a GREAT game between teams with totally contrasting styles. As best as I can figure it, CAK will get the 2 and Polk the 3. According to Earl Nall as reported by Stephen Hargis, this means Polk would get the toughest 6 in the state in Tyner.

Alright, it is late but I think this is what the playoffs would look like if the playoffs started this week. There is still alot of things could change before it is all done. Correct me if I made any mistakes which I am sure I did at 1:30 in the morning. The Last 2 teams in were CCS and Cheatham County, the last 3 out were Piegon Forge, Manassas, and York Institute. *=auto berth as of now.

some are sayin with the tssaa format howard will be seeded on spot above tyner even tho tyner jus beat howard 27- 6... given the teams on each schedule with 500 or better record.. wats ur take on that bertier..

That is correct. TSSAA shows Howard holds the 2nd tiebreaker over Tyner. It was one calculation I missed this week. So if Tyner and Howard win this week, Howard will be seeded ahead of Tyner even though the Rams just beat the Tigers. This system is terrible, and needs a drastic overhaul. Benard Childress basically blames Ronnie Carter for it, but Mr. Childress was on the staff as well at the time.

wow if i was a higher class team i would schedule all my non district teams as traditional class 1a power teams that are in weak districts .. u could get a 1 seed lock .. the old system i have to say is better... u could beat all the top ranked teams in the state and demolish them. but if some team schedules and beats one more .500 team or better no matter if they beat all 5-4 teams and u beat all 9-1 teams they would be higher seed than u.. wow.. very very jacked up

doesn this seem better... district champs get 1 and 2 seeds with the 1 goin to the team with more quality wins fig in strength of schedule and record 2 goin to the second best.. it would give team a lil incentive fore winnin district.. the remaining district champ threw in with the remaining seeds determined by sos wins losses and quality of the teams u win and lose to.. right now as long as u schedule mid level teams even if they are in lower class winnin ur district carries not much weight if any at all.. it would be similar to the way baseball and the nba works including the nfl.. so i think the quad would be more accurate in a differnt format ... maybe like this.. 1 alcoa 8 sweetwater 4 tyner 5 loudon 3 cak 6 howard 2 polk 7 kingston...... does this seem more logical....

And it would be Sunday before they could figure out the brackets... :D Heck...last year's format was easier than that. See how that turned out.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
