Absolute freaking joke!!! You reward Riverdale, and punish the others. The most ridiculous thing in all the brackets is a rematch of Gallatin/Hendersonville!!! THEY PLAYED LAST NIGHT!! Brentwood's reward for playing a brutal schedule is a 1st round game with Smyrna??? I dont get it

Quad 3 may be the final straw that convinces everyone this plan was a HUGE mistake. Some of us tried to tell the TSSAA this would blow up in their face when they even considered this plan. A District Championship should mean something. Head-to-head should DEFINITELY mean something. This plan took neither into account. You have two district champions, in a rematch, playing each other in the first round. If I am Coach Crawford at Brentwood I am HOT. Because of geography, that I can't control, I am an 8 seed in a bracket with the three teams I lost to instead of a 2 seed (Riverdale) in a brackets with people I didn't play. Like the local radio station said, Brentwood basically finished fourth in 7AAA, losing to Oakland, Blackman and Smyrna. What this plan really means is that if I am Brentwood, I am not playing Oakland, Blackman or Smyrna next year.

District 7AAA should just play everyone in their district twice next year....I think they should. I know OHS is having a hard time finding games, and I am sure the same can be said for BHS, RHS, and SHS. Who didn't see this coming 2 years ago.....TSSAA?

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
