FootballDad
how bout this...instead of having 4- 8 team quad...have 2-16 team quads. That way no one quad is not so top heavy. just a thought I like this idea but haven't completely thought through the ramifications. If it would eliminate situations like what Polk is facing this year, and what CAK has faced the past several years I'd be for it. Of course since CAK benefitted this time around from the seeding I'm more pleased with it. I understand the traditional way of seeding teams was based on district champions getting #1 seeds. But I also understand that some regions/districts are top heavy with competition and that a champion in one may be 3rd or 4th in another. At any rate, I feel for Polk, been there done that, happy for CAK. Now, Polk needs to win & CAK needs to win, and we will have us a great football game on slate and can let that game determine if the seeding was accurate or not. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, looking forward to finding out. (if Tyner wins that would be an interesting matchup as well)

That way no one quad is not so top heavy. just a thought This is the best idea I've heard so far to improve the situation. While the travel issue would be marginally worse, the big issue of having one quad that is much easier than the other is ELIMINATED. Given the width of our state, we will never have state wide seeding. Therefore, Abijah's idea is the best alternative that balances giving everyone a fair shake but takes travel into consideration as well. Old Warhorse
Lets hear what everybody thinks. Tough first round match up for the Wildcats but at least it is not Loudon. Tyner has played a brutal non-district schedule. Polk has beaten only one team with a winning record and that was SP. If Polk can control the ball on offense and make Tyner have long drives, then Polk wins. Coach Turner is an experienced head coach. His guys will not be intimated playing at Polk. The Rams will have to make some big plays and try to get on top early to make Polk throw it some. Will be a great game to watch!

Coach J
I don't even know where to start on this one. You really can't compare who they have played in common because there is no one and not like that is a good comparison standard anyway. I will have to say that their schedule wasn't as "tough" as some say because football is in a major slump in our area with the exception of a few teams. I know it's hard to swallow but when you can say Bradley Central is one of the best teams in the area, something is seriously wrong. I can't wait until Friday to just see if Coach Davis can get some redemption on the ealry loses in his career against the Rams and push to the 2nd round where we can hopefully shut a few people up and give CAK a good game. No, I am not looking ahead before anyone says a word, I am putting out a scenario. This will be a huge game for the Cats and they will not only have a tough team to beat they will have an amazing coach leading them. He's had Coach D in his back pocket every game outscoring him 115-29 as far back as I had records. I am anxious to see them take it to the rams and make them feel like the local sheep the Pitt fans so often like to talk about in pregame smack yet replace it with congrats post the "L". This can be an opportunity for Polk to prove several wrong and that they are legit. BUT they cannot afford another first quarter like the one against SP!!!! Got to hold onto the ball!!! Anyway I am sure this will have some positive and negative remarks awaiting, so all I can say is GO CATS and let's STUMP them Rams!!! Oops!!! I mean stomp!!! AquaWater
I remember the last time polk played tyner. It was a very good game but tyner had some good goal line stands to beat polk. But that was 2005 and these wildcats are a whole different bunch and alot more talented and athletic then back in the day. So i see polk winning this one fairly easy. It should be a good atmosphere though. Tyner-18 vs Polk-42 I just quenched your thirst
Erballer5
Lets hear what everybody thinks. Polk County = smashmouth, old school, pound you into submission football Tyner = physical (not as physical as polk), big, very fast, can pound it out but would rather make you tired from chasing their speed first Should be a great game but i'm not sure polk can hang with the team speed of tyner, i'm not saying polk isn't fast by any means. If polk wins it will be because of turnovers. Close game! Tyner wins but not by much

bratt22
Polk, Howard, and Tyner got screwed...they should paire us 3 against the weak teams like Bledsoe, Sequatchie, and Grundy Funny! Coach J
Oh yeah i forgot you can't catch what you can't see. Ask south pitt how their team speed helped them against polk. I 2nd that and if Polk hadn't have had such a crappy 1st quarter against SP it would have been more like a 7 td win. Polk turned it over 2 times inside SP's 20 and threw an int inside SP's 30. But I'm just sayin........ Edited October 31, 2010 by Coach J
