Hoopit10
Surely all those good Christian coaches at a Christian school would not be recruiting, that is illegal in the T$$AA. Some say they are better than the DII schools at it. That's cause what you call recruiting violations, they call ministering to those with size, athleticism and skill and how can ministry be wrong? Gee, usually you guys at least wait until a private school has some success before the recruiting whining starts. The ink hasn't even dried on Ingle Martin new contract and your already at it. take2andhittoright
I remember when CPA and Trousdale Co. were in same classification a few years ago and some of the Trousdale people were getting tears mixed in with their tobacco drool because CPA had 3 or 4 D1 signees. They were about to meet in playoffs, and someone with CPA made up a t-shirt that had a photo of those 3 or 4 guys when they were 5 yrs old (their age when they enrolled at CPA) along with the other kindergarten kids at CPA that year. If Ingle can find that recruiter that got those kids to commit as kindergarteners he could really have a great future.

Ahhh, the good ol' days (Ingle probably can't wait that long) and not really that way any longer. If you did the same with the current boys basketball roster, you could pretty much use their most recent school photo.

Gerry Bertier
You need to move on, get over it. Why? Because posters have a legit concern in regards to recruiting and CPA athletics. Coach Matthews is a better coach than Ingle Martin. But Ingle can bring in some athletes and Coach Matthews did not want to recruit.

Those who think multiple players end up in the same place at same time by parents initiating all the contact on their own are either naïve or in denial. Such is the current state of high school athletics.

kbrks
If that is the case, then work on changing the system. Now that is a good point, a great ideal, but unfortunately unrealistic. Why? One reason is because the TSSAA is not as investigative as an organization such as the NCAA and people should not confuse the two. But the main reason is because for the system to change, those involved have to be totally honest and that is not going to happen. Why? Because there is too much to risk. Coaches involved aren’t going to admit it for obvious reasons and learn easily to minimize and/or rationalize. Parents are ignorant of the rules and/or are flattered by their son or daughter being recruited. Why would they be honest and say anything? For the sake of doing what is right? Not hardly. In fact, when confronted, parents will backpedal, because being honest, in their mind, could ultimately hurt their child in some form or fashion and that is way too much to risk. Plus as I said, they like being recruited, who doesn’t like to feel wanted.

Well I guess one alternative then is that you can sit back and lob accusations and rumours about kids, parents, coaches and administrators. You would have to be either omniscient in your knowledge or callous in your disregard of the damage you would be doing to those you may have falsly accused.
