As we seen tonight, Oliver Springs got put out in the first round by Wartburg; which is a big upset I think. Past years, Oliver Springs has won the district tournament, and I think that is why Coach Davis worked his team to get this BIG victory.

What does everyone think about this game and the rest of the tournament?

Kinda had a feeling that Wartburg would win that one. First time in my life I've ever heard a Wartburg team cheered at Coalfield by Coalfield fans. Jordan was awesome tonight for the lady jackets and they punched their ticket to the regionals. I still think that Oakdale is the best team, but wouldn't want to be them resting with a game against the Lady Dogs on the horizon!

Oneida won tonight also so the 4 4A teams in the regionals are Oakdale, Coalfield, Oneida, and Wartburg. Didn't most predictions have Wartburg as the odd team out?

Quick question: Is the Oliver Springs dominance Dead in the District and Region? Girls out, Boys about to be. I doubt that will play well in the O.S. community

Oneida is going to win the Girl's side! Followed by Oakdale, Coalfield, and Wartburg.

Surprising to see Wartburg take Oliver Spring out! That is the first time anyone has beaten them in the 4A tournament! Good job lady dogs

Did Jordan really have 46 points last night

Yes. She had 36 at half time and only played about 4 min in the 3rd to bring it to 46.

Oliver Springs girls are completely done, losing last night is what put them out. The boys play at Wartburg tomorrow, and will definitely be put out and completely done as well. In the Oliver Springs community, there will be plenty upset but you have to have your team together as one to go far, and nothing goin' wrong in the locker room, if you know what I mean.

We (Oakdale) didn't handle the speed of the Wartburg Team very well. Everyone knew that this Wartburg team would get better and everyone told our girls to be ready for them. They just were not. Most people are angry that we have the tournaments at Wartburg and that they have the home court advantage. I just don't see that. I'm a competitor and believe that the best team wins regardless of where the game is played.

Wartburg was a bad team in the regular season, but regular season's over now and we didn't meet our challenge of beating them.

I was embarrassed by the callers from Oakdale that were trying to say the refs took the game. That is just not proper! Handle victory and defeat with class.

All our people were up in arms over the overrated chant. I saw the Wartburg Coach go to the student section and tell them to stop that and when I asked what he told them a wartburg student told me he said," that Oakdale isn't anywhere close to overrated knock that off." Pretty classy move if you ask me. Is there another coach in 4A that would've done that?

Our schedule rank is 102/109 teams in class A. We just didn't play a schedule that readied our kids for this time of year! But it did make us believe we were better than we apparently are! Better regroup ladies and quit complaining, that is what losers do!

And our community should be ashamed of yelling at the young lady from Wartburg that was hurt late in the game! We have got to represent better.

I see Coalfield beating Wartburg but close!

District Tournaments are all about upset, and so far we've seen two big ones. Personally, I think Wartburg getting the win over Oakdale made the Lady Eagles realize that just because their regular season record was better than everyone else's that they have to be ready for the unexpected. Lady Eagles are the best team this year, but they are to take what comes at them and be ready for the unexpected.

Trashing the refs do nothing good for you or the team. Take the win or the loss and learn from it. Nobody is perfect, and people make mistakes. Refs were trained to do this job, and they will call it like it's supposed to be called.

Best of Luck to Everyone Remaining.

I agree with the posts about Wartburgs chants being out of line, and also about the Oakdale callers on the radio, classless on both ends. As for the caller on the radio saying it was "home cooking" and the refs fault, I have seen almost every game at Wartburg as well as their away games, and that is the first time I have ever even seen that officiating crew.

Anyway, back on topic. I think Monday night Coalfield wins a close one, and Oakdale comes out on top.

So my heart says Wartburg, but my good sense says Coalfield! lol

Wartburg beating Oakdale wasn't a big surprise to me, Wartburg played them close both times this year, and after watching the girls play OS, it looked like they had hit another gear. I just wasn't sure they could repeat that performance. In some ways they didn't, Wartburg had 21 turn overs the first half of that game. If they play like that against Coalfield, it won't even be a close game.

1.) Coalfield

2.) Wartburg

3.) Oakdale

4.) Oneida

Tonight Oakdale Lady Eagles play against the Oneida Lady Indians for 3rd place as Wartburg Lady Dawgs play Coalfield Lady Jackets for the championship.

Hopefully we will see the Lady Eagles bounce back from the disappointing loss against Wartburg, and the Lady Dawgs take over the Lady Jackets and go undefeated in the District Tournament with upsets!

Maybe if the Lady Eagles bounce back from the loss and continue onto another streak, they will go far.

Looks like you got your wish eaglefan...Lady Dogs pulled off another upset!

The Eagles finally woke up and played some ball late in the game, and all the pieces fell together for you.

I thought Kidd deserved tourny mvp though, just my opinion. She was the most valued player on the District Championship team.

Now all we have to do is wipe out region 3A, good luck to all our 4A teams!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
