Looks like you got your wish eaglefan...Lady Dogs pulled off another upset!

The Eagles finally woke up and played some ball late in the game, and all the pieces fell together for you.

I thought Kidd deserved tourny mvp though, just my opinion. She was the most valued player on the District Championship team.

Now all we have to do is wipe out region 3A, good luck to all our 4A teams!

Yea, but the MVP is awarded to the best player in the tournament and that was clearly Jordan. She averaged almost 40 points per game in the tournament and had 38 points tonight. Wartburg was the best TEAM, but Jordan was the best player.

I agree she was the best player, not everybody on the court are div I signees, lol

My argument would be, who was the most valuable to their team during this tournament?

I think Kidd was more valuable to Wartburg than Jodan was to the Jackets. Coalfield doesn't finish 2nd without Jordan, but...that IS 2nd....Wartburg had 3 upsets that wouldn't have happened without Kidd, AND they won the tounry.

Jordan may have averaged more points than anyone else, but you get her frustrated or take her out of the game and Coalfield is left with 1, maybe 2 other players that can shoot and play ball. Everytime I watch Coalfield play, I think of this... You can Jordan frustrated and under her skin early in the game, and keep it that way and she's stopable. She may of had more points, but she's not the MVP of all district teams.

You didn't see the people from Harriman complaing the year D.J. Shannon got region tourney MVP although Harriman won the tournament. Shannon averaged right at 40 a game in the tourney and carried Wartburg to the title game just like Alaina did Coalfield. Harriman was much happier with a bunch of all tournament picks and a championship plaque. You could tell Jordan was heartbroken tonight because her team lost.

Coalfield has a great player and she did score 38 points, but most of them came after the game was decided. That said she was the best player on her team and the district. This award is for the tournament not the regular season and I really believe Kidd was the MVP of the tournament. One thing I know is that none of the Wartburg girls care about individual stuff, they are after the team trophy and that's why a 5 seed can win the championship. I really wish I could've been there but listening on the radio I had to pull off the road the last 4 min. Great Job Girls!

Nobody was on here complaining when Justin Beiber got the MVP at All-Star weekend when he was on the losing team.

OBVIOUSLY, nobody was on here talking about Justin Beiber cause he has NO part in this.

I believe Wartburg got the win cause they work as a team, as Coalfield works with one or two kids that can play ball.

True...wartburg has several players that stepped up and played one of the best games they have played all year, but no one player from wartburg clearly stands out as MVP of the ENTIRE tournament. Though CF has some good athletes, without Jordan, they couldn't have made it to the championship game. She is beyond a doubt the MVP. You would think adults could admit when a kid deserves something no matter what team or rivalry they play for.

I was making a joke. But I have no problem with Alaina getting MVP or if Davidson would have gotten it that wouldn't have bothered me either. You have instances all throughout history of players on losing teams winning MVP awards. Andre Dawson won the NL MVP one year on a last place team. The fact is Wartburg had five players on the all-tournament, which is a testament to how well they played as a team this week. I imagine if Coalfield would have won the game that Wartburg would have still had more players on the all-tournament team because they had more players play well in the tournament as a whole.

Don't know how she could have scored most of those points after the game was decided, because it wasn't decided until the last few seconds. CF almost came back and beat them.

I got educated today folks, I learned who picks the tournament MVP.

I also heard he took alot of grief over the decision. I wouldn't want to have a decision like that laying on my shoulders. A position like he was in, would be WAY worse than being a politician...no way would he have been able to make a choice and not make someone mad. I like the guy, and I think he would make the fairest decision possible.

That being said, Jordan was the best player on the court, if that is what decides the MVP, he made the right choice.

imho

I saw a Wartburg team give an education in unselfish play to a team with a kid that almost refuses to pass the ball. She was the MVP because she in my humble opinion killed any concept of team play for coalfield on the offensive end. I couldn't count the number of times 5 players touched the ball for the lady dogs probably most of their possessions but i can tell you how many times coalfield had 5 touch it 3 possessions. 3 that isn't team play that is individual and that is why they lost. I thought that the foster girls played very well for coalfield and could have helped take some of the pressure off Jordan if she had passed the basketball. Coalfield did make a comeback but If wartburg's freshmen hadn't got in foul trouble wartburg wouldve won by 10 or more. I don't know it Wartburg can win the region, but I know they've earned much respect over the last week and a half.

Our lady indians had leads on Oadale and Coalfield only to blow them in the second half I don't think they will be as likely to blow their next lead so I look for them to make the 2nd round of the region at least!

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
