StarRaider
Read earlier Lewis is Freed Hardeman. If we did a re-rank of the district based on what we know, what do you think rest of the season looks like? One guess: 1. Riverdale. (Good pitching, best offense) 2. Siegel (Good pitching, good defense) 3. Blackman 4. Smyrna (tough, going to do some damage) 5. Oakland 6. Lavergne Correct on Lewis to Freed Hardeman. Blackman and Siegel won again last night, not sure about Riverdale vs. Oakland. Looks like a three team race.

Looks like a three team race. Riverdale won 9 - 3 last night over Oakland. Too early to make a prediction. Lot's of baseball to be played still. Going to be a tight and interesting race. StarRaider
Siegel wins over Lavergne 3-1 to sweep their second district 7AAA series. edited 4/8 Blackman swept Smyrna and Oakland beat Riverdale last night. Blackman, Siegel 6-0 Riverdale 4-2 Oakland, Smyrna 1-5 Lavergne 0-6 Next week Siegel away home away Smyrna Blackman - Riverdale Oakland - Lavergne. With Blackman and Siegel sitting at 6-0, probably will take at least 5 or 6 more wins to take the district, so betting the winner goes at least 11-4 or 12-3. That would eliminate the bottom three teams. Edited April 8, 2011 by StarRaider

Where they lack essentially is coaching. Coach Reavis is a great guy but honestly not a good coach at all. It seems like everyone associated with the program will back up this statement. The talent will carry the team but the coaching could keep them from reaching their full potential. Goodluck Stars. Hope the success continues even with the lack of coaching. I guess he didn't coach very well at Lavergne when they won a state title? I guess his dad wasn't a very good coach either?

Glad to see you back David. I miss the Riverdale site where the standings were kept up to date all the time. Excellent post. I am associated with Siegel baseball and disagree 100% with our new friend. I think Siegel has overachieved so far this season and Coach Reavis has done a great job with those young men. Your mileage may vary.

Great first post - you from Oakland or a disgruntled mom? (sorry Oakland - no disrespect intended) Coach Reavis sure has done well with a group that many on this board gave no chance to. Still early so the jury is out who will win 7AAA but I like what Craig has done with this team so far. Reavis senior is at most of the games but this is Craigs' team not his. So, sorry your son isn't playing and your taste of sour grapes but this group is a TEAM and is led by a State winning coach, like it or not. Quit trying to tear down this team! BTW - Coach Reavis and the Stars just won another vs Shelbyville. MeepMeep

Anyone who is a true part of this program and really cares about the players and team would not have made those comments about Reavis. This year is starting out great for the Stars and I believe all the players and parents are behind them and their coach. Hopefully, we can go on to a different topic. Go Stars! MeepMeep I wasn't trying to imply that Jackie was involved in coaching the team, just that the poster would have probably thought the same of his coaching ability when he was coaching 'a few years ago'
