Chattcity
Heard the injury was a very serious one....out for the year and perhaps will not ever play football again. Hate that for any kid. That's tough. Is it Garstin? Edited September 13, 2011 by Chattcity

KWoodroof
Houston Clements What was the nature of the injury? It didn't look that bad at the time, although I know when he got to the sideling he lay down immediately on the track. Best wishes and prayers. I heard it was his achilles tendon...not sure if it is torn or snapped. But, if it snapped, you probably would have noticed that at the game. I can't imagine much more painful. footballfan1111
Which play did it happen on? I never noticed this injury (I blame it on the rock band).

TheBigRedDog
The culture at MBA has undergone a pretty significant change over the years. The current headmaster puts a great emphasis on arts and the theatre, and interaction with Harpeth Hall. I was there during Francis E. Carter's era, when MBA wasn't just an all male school, it was a manly institution. He embodied the concept of "Gentleman, Scholar, Athlete," and in that order. There was no mention of "Artist, Thespian, Metrosexual" at all. Changes over time are not always progress. On the other hand, MBA crowds have always been fashionably late. No idea why. You are right on, as usual. Gioia's emasculatization(is that a word?) of MBA continues. The rock band is embarrassing and annoying. Serves no purpose, in my opinion. I'm sure the powers that be would say that those young musicians deserve an opportunity to showcase their talents. That's fine, but not at a FOOTBALL GAME. MBA crowds have always been late arriving, with only a dedicated portion of the crowd really paying attention and into the game. This has been the case since I can remember. I'm not saying I like it, but that's reality. Of course, winning cures some of that. I assure you that if this team were 4-0 rather than 1-3, the crowd would be a bit more lively.
