oldwiseone
McCallie-Baylor week is a little early this year but it will be just as fun and intense as ever. Both teams are better than predicted and the game itself should be competitive as usual. The favorite has to be Baylor who not only beat Ensworth Friday, but beat them handily. McCallie is surprisingly good this year especially on offense. Baylor had to replace an all-state QB and has not only done so, but they haven't slowed down any. A tough task for The Blue Tornado this week, but it is "The Week" and anything is possible. The big question for me - can McCallie contain the outside running game? We shall see. BLUEMOM
Saw my first McCallie flag on a vehicle yesterday... Unfurling mine this am! It is always an amazing week! Will definitely need to contain Ollerich and execute flawlessly. Saw Bubba working his boys out Sat AM. Will be most interesting to see if they remain focused and ready to play above themselves on Friday! Go Blue!
bruisermom
Baylor/GPS Mom here. Oldwiseone (hope I got that right) you are so right....It does not get any better that Baylor/McCallie week! Baylor has had a terrific season so far and it sounds like McCallie has too. We are getting the huge Red flags ready to fly. There is just nothing like it in high school sports that I have ever seen. The fact that local Chattanooga TV carries this game every year says alot. Go Red Raiders!
bluelion
Baylor played a dominating game against Ensworth and has had an undefeated season to date. McCallie lost to Ensworth but has beaten every other team handily. Should be a great game but Baylor I think is just too talented. I think Baylor will extend their streak over McCallie. Baylor by 10. repo
Where is the game this year? In my opinion, Baylor is ripe to be upset. If the game is at McCallie I like the Blue Tornado by a score. If the game is at Baylor, well... Edited September 21, 2011 by repo
oldwiseone
time to predict a score and i really don't want to.....as improved as mccallie is this year, i feel baylor simply has too many horses. my head says - the game will be close in the first half, but midway through the third quarter baylor will start to pull away ending up with a 16 point win...wait a minute....who cares what the head says? the heart is more important, and it is telling me - the blue tornado, in a huge upset, wins by two and stops the "mini-streak" at three!!!!! GO BIG BLUE! and may nobody get hurt.......too much bad news lately.

oldwiseone
It's at Baylor Having attended the last two McCallie-Baylor games played at Baylor, I really don't think the home field is much of an advantage. There is a huge, noisy contingent of McCallie fans there - not 50% but close enough. It is a heck of a setting for a high school football game and if you have never been, check it out. BLUEMOM
I've watched a little practice this week.... looked at a little film.... conversed with a few coaches.... meditated in deep thought.... prayed to a higher power. Aw heck with it, I say 'Naders in a close one by 3 or less points. PS - if you have not already got your ticket it is most likely too late. I know the Red sold out today and the Blue has less than 100 tix left after opening to the parents/alumni today.
