I never said anything about Lake County football team? This is a Basketball thread anyway. If you were to be put in LC, UC, and Humboldt District you would lose most likely come in fourth that's how bad it would be I'm not saying McEwen can either, but Perry County would be in the same place as McEwen. Just wait we will see who goes to state and who doesn't until then lets just see how the districts play out.

don't understand your thread. If we were to be put in Lake Co's ,Union City or Humboldt's District. That we would finish 4th.That's the district we are in.I'm from Lake co.

My bad I thought you were from Perry County. I believe Lake County as the best chances on winning state personally although I'm a McEwen fan I believe we should make it to state pretty easy this year.

hahaha well in that case will see yall in the 'boro during the tourney...cuz were goin to have a sub-state game at our place and yall will have to worry about summertown or wayne co. :thumb:

That's not a problem because McEwen beat Summertown and Waynesboro pretty bad at camp this summer. So in that case McEwen shouldn't have to worry about any of those teams.

Summertown beat yall by 9 (44-35), and i think Clarksville Academy, and Nashville Christian will both have pretty solid teams, but i'm not saying yall will win or lose either game i just think because their private they'll have some pretty good recruits

We don't need to recruit sportsfan. Our quality education speaks for itself. Besides if we wanted to recruit we would go play division II. By the way, if we recruited don't you think we would have had more than two or three good years? Was Perry County recruiting when they won all their titles? I don't think so. Just because a program has some success doesn't mean they recruit.

OLD FASHIONED SAYS: JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE TWO GUYS THAT ARE BIG DOESN'T MEAN THEIR GOING TO TAKE THAT MCEWEN TEAM TO STATE OR EVEN WIN THAT WEAK DISTRICT. PERRY COUNTY BEAT THAT CLARKSVILLE TEAM WITH TWO GIANTS AND PERRY COUNTY WAS UNDERSIZED BY ABOUT A FOOT. SO DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP SON.

Hey old man, C.A beat themselves in that game last year, P.C. wasn't even in the top five best teams C.A. played last year, especially if you count our out of state schedule.

Better than us? they weren't even as good as us, we gave that game away. our boys were already focused on heading off and playing d1 ball.

I'm confused? Did CA win the game? Sometimes being more physically talented isn't everything you also have to be tough mentally. I guess your saying CA wasn't as tough mentally since the "gave it away" and "they were looking ahead." Last time I checked its all part of the game and if you play the game and lose obviously you aren't as good in all aspects as the other team.

McEwen will kill Summertown either way espically since you all will be traveling to are play this year if we were to play each other. I actually hope we play Summertown that way we can prove we're the better team.

In the last 12 years Summertown has been to 6 substates and 4 state tournaments with one of those being a final four. there is not a more successful program in the mid state. get to murfreesboro once in the history of the school before you you do all that talking.it will take more than a bunch of loud talk to spook summertown.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
