If we play again? Last time I checked Gallatin won by 2 points against a team that they were supposed to dominate, so "no, I wasnt impressed". Rather than commending a team on playing well against you, you whine and complain about how poorly your team played and the terrible officiating....but oh well. Good luck in the playoffs.

Gallatin should be 10-1 after tonight because they beat Beech and the refs.

Gallatin did not play well and still won. Beech will be tough the next couple of years but the refs made them look alot better than they were tonight. That might make some of the Buc fans mad but that is how I saw it.

Bad officiating....seriously? So the zebras were responsible for Beech out gaining you 435 to 294? I must've watched a different game than you did. The penalty count was 6 on Gallatin, 5 on Beech. I could list at least 3 hits out of bounds on Gallatin that weren't called if you want to play that game, but I'm not going to come on here and blame the refs for our loss. I give credit to Gallatin for making three big plays: the kick return, the pick 6 and the long td pass. Beech had their chances but didn't capitalize. I tip my hat to the Wave for making the stop on the 2pt conversion and wish you well in the playoffs.

OK, Recap! Beech played well. Gallatin lackluster tonight. Officiating, really? You were whinning about Refs in your first post, Vol74. Last time I checked, the only stat with meaning was Gallatin "W" & Beech "L". How does that impress upon you? Oh, and good luck too.

Very respectable post. Keep in mind, Beech had a big pass play and the long run by Hurd concerning big plays as well (a third of the offense). I could count at least 3 holds not called on Beech, so lets stop. Officiating was poor, period. I tip my hat to Beech for a well played game in all facets of the game.

Alright, enough bickering. Other than the last two min the officiating was bad for both teams. The fact is Gallatin made more big plays than Beech. I can't believe Beech didn't use the passing game more and I haven't seen Gallatin drop more easy first downs all season. Overall, a tough district game as I expected. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

I guess you were watching a different one than me. I did see one questionable hit out of bounds but I saw several facemasks, holds on #10, hold on #8 during Hurd's long run, 2 pass interference calls on #5 and a the fake punt there was no illegal receiver, that was a clean play that they missed. #14 also got a terrible spot when he put his hand on the ground to prevent his knee from touching and they blew the whistle too soon when he broke free at the goalline. Give Gallatin about 150 more yards on those 3 plays alone. Yeah I am serious!

On the other hand I thought Kentzier was better than advertised and Carter looked pretty good. Hurd had a tough time getting yards but they keyed on him alot. Meadows made a great catch and run, I am a little surprised he doesn't get the ball more. Beech's defense wrapped up really well.

Gallatin did not play as well as they have shown. Running game never really opened up and Carnes was off in the first half. They surrendered more 3 and longs in one game than they have all season. Defense had played really well but needs to be more sound in the playoffs.

I see these two playing again along with Hendersonville. Those 3 will be the class of our quad I predict.

Your bad officiating argument lost a lot of credibility when you said #8 was holding on Hurd's run. #8 never got in the game for Beech and #5 doesn't play D. Machine is right, enough bickering and let's bring all playoff games back to Sumner Co in two weeks.

GWAVE1 is referring that our #8 was held and I am assuming he means the the same in regards to #5. Film does not lie. If you have an opportunity, watch it. Agreed, Sumner County should dominate first round.

Well, I wasn't that impressed! Gallatin may beat Beech if they see them again in the playoffs, and Gallatin may win out in this quad, but they cant compare to teams like Henry Co., Powell, or Columbia Central. That was made pretty clear after the Mt. Juliet slaughter, but I guess that was bad officiating too, right?

Sorry buddy but Mt.Juliet would probably slaughter any team in 5A and has a good a chance as any1 to make it to Cookeville this year is 6A. I wouldnt judge Gallitan by this 1 game, they are legit and the only team that may beat them out if the 1s you listed is HC and I am willing to bet we will see that game around Thanksgiving weekend I am thinking.....

I like to think I am one the most objective football fans out there; however, this game was the most poorly officiated I have seen...ever. On the Janario Perry TD catch in the fourth quarter, Perry was interefered with while the ball was in the air AND there was a blaten face mask after the ball was caught. Somehow he still caught it and dragged the defender 10 yards into the endzone.

Exhibit B: Gallatin's Darrian Banks breaks around the end on a 3rd down deep in Wave territory, a play on which he would still be running BUT it was blown dead??? Still can't exlplain that or how Beech was not called for the obvious face mask on the same play!!!

Exhibit C: Gallatin (in punt formation) fakes it on 4th and throws to a streaking TE over the middle AFTER the ball is caught and #86 is 30+ yards downfield, the line judge throws an inelligable reciever penalty. Watch the tape, #10 comes off the line, motions from right to left and lines up off the line of scrimmage, thus #86 is eligible!!!!

I could go on but you get the point. By the way, to hopefully silence to assured Beech doubters, Gallatin had an obvious late hit out of bounds on the Beech sideline in the 3rd quarter as well, bottom line, terrible officiating.

Hope to see the Bucs again in the 3rd round (it won't be this close next time)

Thank you for setting that straight. It was starting to get frustrating trying to explain the obvious.

I agree with most that Sumner Co could very well all advance to the next rd.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
