I know Clayton was not offered until late last week, Wheb you state it was a done deal it was not one. Shrader told Clayton he wanted him but central office had final say.

You can pay yourself in the back if you want but my information about the situation was always true. All I know is that I got my information from the man everyone is congratulating right now.

Not patting myself on the back at all. Just saying that this was a done deal for a while, longer than a week and a half or so. It may not have been signed off on by Register but Schrader knew who he wanted way before a week and a half ago. Like I said, Clayton has been interviewing for about three or four weeks now. And I got that from someone who interviewed with Clayton at Hillsboro High School. My info was always correct too. So was the fork who predicted this a long time ago. So Indy since you are such big friends with Clayton who is his staff going to be? What defense will he run? What offense? Etc.. Just ask him like you did recently.

It was the guy chsteamplayer that predicted this hire before the last football season even started if I remember correctly. If my old memory serves correctly, it was him that predicted that Clayton would be fired, Webb would be hired, Clayton would be hired at Hillsboro. Fork came much later with his Clayton prediction.

As far as Clayton's staff, that will be interesting to see form. Metro has really struggled trying to get staffs built. I think Hillsboro enrollment trend is going down. Makes it ever harder to bring on coaches when school numbers are dropping.

Swami you are correct about chsteamplayers prediction I think even before last season ended. Kind of crazy that it ended up happening just as he said it would. It will be interesting to see who all Clayton can get. I think he will probably have to go the non-faculty route to get a couple quality coaches and then try to fit others in as he can. Makes it really hard without teaching spots available.

I do not understand this hire at Hillsboro. Why would a guy let go and about to retire be hired? I hope this does not come back and bite the principal in the butt. How do you run a program with no teaching help in the building? Are there not any teachers that can coach at Hillsboro? What will happen to the coaches still there?

A little research on the guy shows that he won just about everywhere he coached. He had a great record at Franklin, but it did not overcome the personal issue it sounds like existed between him and the principal. Your other question has plagued metro for years. You last question will probably have some answers soon, some answers over the summer, and some in early fall. What coaches are actually still at Hillsboro?

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
