allabouttheO
Way to represent Smyrna. Sounds like you left it all on the field. Take some time off and get ready to do it all again next season!

TheMasheen
according to radio, only turnover tonight was interception thrown by Franklin. penalites were high in first qtr but didnt hear much after that. I believe both teams missed xtra point Franklin missed an extra point in what seemed to be miscommunication between the snapper and holder, as the ball was snapped as the holder looked away. Smyrna missed an extra point late in the fourth...when it was blocked by the Franklin Defense. Incredible game, the best I've ever seen in my life. Keep it up Rebels!! Brentwood next week, then 3 more games!
classact
Congrats to those Rowdy Rebels, 29-26 double overtime! Dawgs gone home to lick their paw. Looking forward to hosting the Bruins in round two. Just a splendid evening @ Howard Gamble Stadium. Go Rebels!!!
mykidsdad
Props to Franklin for a big win. I really thought Smyrner would win. But it appears the kicking game not only cost them a State Championship last year, but got them bounced in the first round this year. I guess that's why they call them special teams. Blazeallthewaze
I would be really upset if I were a Smyrna fan last night after hearing how this one ended. Officials that don't even know the rules calling a playoff game. That is hard way to go out. No team deserves to lose in that way. Its hard for me to imagine that officials that have called games all year do not know that you take turns getting your choice of the ball or defense at the start of each overtime. The team that wins a coin toss doesn't get the choice every overtime. What a joke of officials. I hear officials huddled for several minutes discussing this but evidently none of them knew the rules. Maybe Franklins coaches should have shown some class and helped the officials out instead of letting what they knew was a wrong stay that way. What are we teaching our kids these days. In the end, its all on the officials and the poor job done by the tssaa in getting these officials ready to call games. Not trying to make anybody bad by making this post, its just not right to go out like this.

derick
The officials were huddled on the Smyrna sideline with 1 official on the Franklin sideline not allowing the coaches to walk out there. I think the coaches told the ref something since he walked out to the huddle, but didn't do anything.
