Told you once I'm a Cosby Eagle from Cocke County Tennessee, moonshine capital of the world.

This Friday I'm headed to the Moore County/Nashville Christian game. Want to see how the legal liquor makers play football I reckon.

Moonshine capital is North Wilkesboro NC, Cocke Co is known for fighting Chickens. Mountain Troll might have a different opinion lol

Schools on probation don't get trophies. If they really are a christian school, they should not want one this year. They should Gracefully accept their punishment and compete for their own trophy when they get the chance. It can't be settled on the field and the reason it can't be settled on the field is because they broke the rules.

I see that one parted your hair. thumb[1].gif

If you think all of the Maryville, Alcoa, Farragut, South Pitt, and Trousdale players are home grown you may be the most naive posted on CoachT. The ability to cheat is not mutually exclusive to the schools in TN that charge tuition.

Trousdale doesn't have to recruit. We have something here that can't be recruited. It's called born and bred championship traditions. Our boys grow up dreaming of those trophys and rings and they know from an early age how much hard work it takes to get them. They don't mind. As one of our shirts says "TC football - It's a way of life".

There is no substitute for hard work and a passion for the game, no doubt. But you'll never convince most folks that you guys don't import players when you need them.

OK. Just look at our rosters and see how many kids are playing exactly where their brothers, fathers, and uncles have played years before. Same names, same game. speaks for itself.

Well there are public schools where kids come in to play for a certain school, but the thing is they have to move into the area to be able to play for the school which makes it legal. If a family is willing to pack up and move to a completely different area then all the more power to them because i'm sure moving is very difficult. Privates have no zoning rules and get to pick and choose who they let it and who they don't.

The kid from Chicago comes from a military family. His dad was originally from Sumner County and was wanting to move back into the area, but didn't want his son going to Gallatin. He came from a small private school and wanted a similar enviornment (size wise) with a chance to excell athletically. Is there a better option than Trousdale County in this area?

Like the voices Kevin Costner use to hear....if you build it, they will come. We don't have to recruit. Our program and trophy case does that for us. Sorry that some people want to be a part of it and are willing to move into the county.

What's funny to me is this... I think some people believe we go and line up all surrounding counties football players and pick the cream of the crop. Chicago looks good in a uniform, but have you seen some of the others? Some have been good, mind you, but I don't remember any 3-5 star players coming into our program. No superstars...they have all been homegrown.

The soccer playing German exchange student that kicked for us in '09...well he had never even seen a football unitl school started that year. He could blast 30-40 yard field goals with either foot. We just fell bass ackwards into that. But, I guess we'll never be able to convince everybody that we didn't fly across the pond and hand pick him.

Are you talking about the U.C. kid here that beat us with 2 seconds remaining in the 2009 title game?

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
