7AAA vs Maryville

I don't think Maryville would beat Blackman, Smyrna, or Riverdale.

Maybe Oakland and Siegel and definitely Lavergne.

However I do think Oakland will beat MJ.

I may be all wrong but I guess we will see.

So now , did this move us up to 4th place in 7AAA ?

I wasn't gonna do this but your take a knee crap is hilarious , just keep trying to find something bad to talk about , it's really pitiful , every fan , coach , and player for Maryville is always very respectful towards every team , and anyone injured , you're just wanting to come up with something now .

Wow I don't care about the knee I was just shocked that Maryville didn't. I posted in the other thread how they were the better team tonight. And congrats them and even said I'll be cheering for them I state. So what Maryville beat us, just was shocked they didn't take the knee. Never heard the cramped excuse but apparently they don't do it for anyone so I don't think it was them being disrespectful for us. Maybe you should read my other posts. Thanks

I've read your posts , including the one I quoted about us being about 5th or 6th best in 7AAA ... I found it really lame for you to bring up the " not taking a knee " you were there and you heard and saw how the Maryville team and fans cheered the young man when he got up and ran off the field ... yet you still chose to try and make something controversial about it .

Actually go look at the time I posted it. That was the exact second he was down and I seen they didn't take a knee. .. So it was posted before they could cheer and clap for him. Maybe you shouldnt jump to conclusions!!!

I then went on to say in later posts how they were the better team tonight. So why must you insist. All the other Maryville people have been more then nice...

All the other Riverdale posters were a great Example of what Class is all about ... you on the other hand ...

Read what you just wrote ... geeez you were so quick to make a derogatory post about Maryville you couldn't even wait till the young man got up before you had to go post something negative ... wow just think about that . I was too busy watching to see how the young man was doing and if he was going to be alright , I didn't have time then to make a post about the other team . I'm done with you .

Maryville played only 3 or 4 6a teams all year. Comparing 7AAA to Maryville's district is like comparing the SEC to Conference USA. Maryville has an outstanding quarterback but has about as good a chance of beating Blackman or Riverdale as Houston (Conference USA undefeated) beating any of the top 3 SEC teams (Bama, LSU or Arkansas)

Fellers eye no we ain't two tha end ov tha yeer yet...Butt eye voat fer this one az my post ov tha yeer...(so fer)...!!!!!.............

Some folks could say that since 7AAA last-place Lavergne beat CAK this year and CAK just beat Alcoa for the second time and Alcoa beat Maryville last year then that proves 7AAA is better :roflol:

Nah, the same "folks" could say.....it's like THIS, Alcoa only loss to Maryville by 7 points, Riverdale got run off the field. So, Alcoa, CAK and Lavergne are much better teams than Riverdale without their starting QB!!

The Riverdale defense was slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I never said Riverdale had team speed. I do agree with your assessment. I think their secondary was decent but the front seven was average speed wise, very strong but not very fast. Smyrner last year had great team speed. Not very strong but very fast.

Congrats all the same. Beat one more good team and you will be State Champs:popcorneater:

I don't call East TN football pitiful. I do say that when hillbilly ball meets speed ball their are noticeable differences.

Maryville's Top Ten Difference between Hillbilly ball and 7AAA....

10.Maryville players only "take a knee" as the clock winds down.

9. Maryville's local media does not kill thousands of trees as does DNJ.

8. Maryville plays all 6A semi finals at home (thanks OR for last year)

7. Maryville plays 15 weeks of football

6. 7AAA gets a head start on basketball

5. 7AAA has to travel out of state to get good competition, Maryville has plenty of good local teams.

4. Stars

3. 7AAA has more excuses than Maryville has Gold Balls (and that is a lot!)

2. Scoreboard difference 42 - 30, 23 - 21, 42 - 14

1. GQ

Maryville fans just need to realize that none of those teams/fans will ever respect the Rebels. No matter how many times Maryville kicks the dog out of the best team from the best district in the country, they will never, ever respect or give Maryville their due.

Who cares, though? It's just the way it is, and the way it will always be. We'll be arguing about the same thing next year.

Personally, I'll take gold balls over playing in the best district in the country.

I noticed a few things, actually.

A) Blackman never gets far enough to see Maryville.

B) "Hillbilly" (can we get a definition?) ball wins when it goes against Rutherford County.

C) they're/there/their

Why am I even arguing, though? Maryville could beat Rutherford County schools 27 straight times, and we'd still be hearing the same things.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
