The Ambassador isn't playing anything up. I am calling it like I see it. I told you last week you would mercy rule Nashville Christian. Now, I am calling it again. I have seen Gordonsville in person this season. They are the best team in the east this season. That is just the facts. Are they unbeatable? NO, but they are a VERY good football team.

Wow!!! Another thread that took me forever to get caught up on! But, the reading has been enjoyable. :popcorneater: I did find out a couple of things. 1) Everyone other than actual G'ville and E'ville fans think this is going to be a blowout and 2) redkuda sure does talk...... er.... I mean type a lot! But he does support his school, and that's what this message board is all about. :thumb:

I think G'ville will win this one because I, personally think they are the better team. E'ville may surprise me, but I don't think so. Either way, good luck to both teams and congrats on successful seasons to the both of you!

Wow! I almost typed as much as redkuda!

I know right, fair comments on both things you found out. ;)

This is Gordonsville year. We will mercy rule Eagleville. They don't have the speed to match us.

So you've timed us... really, unless you've seen em play or watched a lot of game film on em you don't have anything to base that on. I have seen only a little video on G'ville, not gonna say something like that.

South Pitt hasnt haulted you in the playoffs as much as you think. South Pittsburg beat Gordonsville in 2001, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2010 and Gordonsville won in 2002, 2004, 2006. Not too shabby if you ask me. I believe you will be satisfied this season. I honestly don't see this So. Pitt team beating Gordonsville. By the way. Gordonsville wins by 35 on Friday.

I was on the teams in 2001 and 2002. I can't figure out which loss hurt more, the 2001 loss @ south pitt or the 2002 loss at home against Boyd that effectively ended my football career

I really think this game will be close and competitive. There are so many factors that play into a game that all this mercy rule crap is just that. Depth may be the biggest factor for G'ville as they probly have more than E'ville. I know that most of em aren't G'ville fans. Mercy rule based on what, that they beat a mediocre team last week that was lucky to have won the week before, given G'ville has played some good teams. They must be assuming that A) Eagleville's defensive stats and efforts for the year are a facade, B) that Eagleville's going to lay down, C) that G'ville won't have any turnovers, D) that they're so in awe of G'ville that they feel they have no hope... Too many assumptions based only on the fact that G'ville is a good team and somehow that Eagleville won't show up even though they're 11-0. They could beat Eagleville badly if Eagleville gives the ball away but outside of that, I don't think a blowout is happening. If G'ville wins it will be at most by 2 td's but I'd say less than 10 pts. That being said I think Eagleville has a chance to pull off the upset and if that happens I could care less if it's by 1 or 10.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
