BA about to get serious with football/basketball coaching search

Just hoping for some kind of stability for the seniors- another firing would be tough right now IMO. Don't make a fire mid-season- if they needed to replace the coach it should have been done after last season.

Let me preface this by saying I am not close to the basketball team, or the inner situations. From an outsider pov purely.

Just a little history on BA basketball program. BA's basketball coach (BA Alum)took over the team after Brandon Wright (NC player now NBA)graduated. He was an assistant under coach Pitts who went to the college level to coach after Brandon Wright. (Good move on his part) BA won multiple state championships while Pitts was there. After he departed BA still had a strong team the next few year but it has slowly developed into an average program. Lots of players have quit or transferred over the last 4 years. The coach has had some really good players but hasn't been able to find the right team chemistry to succeed in DII AA. The 3 best players this year for BA, one transferred, one injured from football and one didn't come back out for the team. Tough situation for the BA basketball coach, I wish them luck this year.

I would take a hard long look at Brian Rector. State Champion at 5A at Ravenwood, only Williamson County team to beat BA, college experience, turned Centennial around in first year. He is creative and hard nosed and as energetic as the come.

Spoken from a Ravenwood supporter. Guess I would want Rector to leave Centennial if I were you too. Why are you not offering up your current coach?

Rutledge had expressed interest in BA while he was at MBA. He would be a good bet.

Pack is not a BA alum; he's from MBA (Class of '80).

Don't think so. Wonderful man but had lots of problems calling plays and working with his team at the end. There was a reason MBA let him go.

Pack is another arrogant coach. We would be back in the same place.

Go Jack Pittman!

With 2 posts promoting Brian in less than 12 hours, I humorously assumed it was Brian doing the posts himself. I know it wasn't Brian- it was just a (very) sad attempt at humor. It looks like he is doing a fine job encouraging, growing and unifying the Centennial program- all due respect to anyone taking on the role of a high school coach to mold these young men. GG85
