Who is the wrestlers to watch this year in 103?

103's always ( from my experience) the hardest to predict, because you can't ever know

A) who all from last year has Grown.

:D what GREAT freshmen are there

C) who from 112 will be able to make the Cut down to 103

in Region 3 (which I'm sure you were getting at), the Cleveland kid looked as though he Might be able to stay that small....if he does, End of discussion. Period. if not for Kyle James being, Well, Kyle James, that kid Walks OFF with it all last year, much less this year.

EDIT: when I said "cleveland kid", I meant Danny Coleman from Cleveland HS.

One name: Whitt Dunning: if you didn't beat him last year you lost your only opportunity. Quick, strong, great mental toughness, and has the best technique of anyone ever in the Ryan room.

HBK thanks. Region 3 is important to me. I also have a interest in Region 2. We were not able to wrestle highschool last year and I am not up to speed on all the kids in all the classes. We did go to Mr. Miller's at Cleveland some this summer, like always he has class and had his doors open for all.

What does this have to do with 103 pounders?

I agree. Dunning will be the best in DII or DI. Hands down. Watch what happens in the McCallie or Ryan Invitationals for your proof.

I went to practice with Soddy a couple of weeks ago and I heard Fullar might go 103. I think he could give Coleman or Dunning a match. I seen him beat Hiller in freestyle.

Jimmy Hiller is out to go all the way this season, especially after his upsetting loss to Simpson, so my pick is him for his weight class. Whit Dunning is without a doubt, the best wrestler in the 103 class. All you have to do is watch him. And his brother Raymond will be out for his 3rd state title this year too and as a senior, I'd be surprised if he didn't get it.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
