Great half for the Indians up 37 to 23 against notre dame.. Indians really look good rite now hitting some good shots and a good dunk by keegan

Sequatchie Co. makes a huge statement tonight by blowing out Notre Dame. Sequatchie led by 14 at the half and built the lead to over 30 when they pulled the starters. Indians beat Notre Dame 77-44 and advance to the finals, the Irish will play in the consolation game.

That's the kind of win they needed headed into the district final. 15-13 after a quarter. Sequatchie opened the second quarter with a 12-0 run and ND's body language changed, they were back on their heels the rest of the first half. 37-23 at the half with the dunk mentioned really getting everyone excited before the break. Seq led by as much as 20 in the third quarter then started the fourth the way they started the second with another big run to put the game out of reach completely. A four point play, a three and the free throw after a foul, by Cartwright early in the fourth pretty much ended it. I think the lead got to 70-40 with about 4 minutes left. For Seq, Cartwright had 27 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists. Rodney Smith had 16 points, 8 rebounds. Frederick had 12 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks. Holland had 14 points and really gave ND trouble with his defensive efforts, including a steal and layup just before the half ended. Tucker had 6 assists. Hudson's shooting was off but he continued to work hard and had 11 rebounds. Good team effort. In the first three quarters, ND had 6 offensive rebounds in 30 missed FG, Seq had 11 in 23 so they got the ball back nearly half the time and they scored on most of those second chances.

Don't remember the final, but it was a tussle. Ugliest game I seen in a while. Refs totally sucked. One of those sloppy games with fouls all over the place and no rhyme or reason to what they wuz callin and not callin. Almost started looking like football by the second half.

After seeing the game tonight. There's no reason why this team shouldn't be in Murfreesburo. Really the only team that has played them tight consistently was Notre Dame, and Sequatchie hung 30 on them tonight. Really impressive. Their leaders are picking it up and the role guys are doing their jobs. I think this team could shock some people. Congrats to Coach Smith and the Indian squad. Keep it up guys! This town is behind you 100 percent.
