B.T.Washington Warriors

I think their competition is horrible, and that they will get a rude awakening when they play some of the teams from District 14, or when they get to state. Im not saying they won't win it all(which I don't believe they will) I just don't think they will dominate in Sub-State or State.

The in-conference schedule may be correct. It IS horrible. The whole rude awakening thing has no backbone. Have you forgotten that this is the same BTW team and program that has been dominating and competitive in 2A. I doubt that them dropping down to 1A this year will provide any shockers during substate or state. What teams can compete with this overall team athleticism and pure skill?? I mean seriously this is a Memphis team

Westwood is a very different and tough team since December. They pretty much have a different roster since then. Point is Booker T. Washington has beaten every single team on their schedule. 5A in Missouri, 5A in Arkansas, Tennessee 1A, 2A, and 3A. They won em all. Who can argue with that

LC or Humboldt will argue with that come sub state time I will guarantee you that one

I agree, when they lost to Bolivar in sub-state last year they had maturity issues. If those issues have been addressed then they should bring home the gold ball. :popcorneater:

Here is the way I see it from a statistic point-of-view.

The best team that they have played all year is a 65 win percentage team in Westwood, who in my book, looks to be down quite alot from last year. Considering the fact that they only beat Westwood by 2, 7, and 3 doesn't look to be too promising.

In the past teams (Like BTW) who had a very easy schedule throughout the regular season had a haunting post-season (Need I say names?) after they got through districts because they aren't used to the competition and such close games.

However, just because they haven't played teams that have tested their skill does not mean that they are not a Murphy Center worthy team, and no one can be the judge of that. Only time will tell what is in store for BTW.

Best wishes throughout the post-season, hope to see you guys play in the boro!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
