Stone Memorial vs Livingston Academy

I think the difference for Stone is the level of competition they have played this year. The second thing is that LA has a lot of size, but with that comes problems defending Stone's speed and perimeter play. If one of the brothers guards Cole, who does the other one guard? Zone would make since if Stone wasn't the deadliest three ball team in the state. Stone by 7

I wouldn't argue that point too much if I hadn't seen LA beat a very fast Tyner team that had a pair of light-out 3 point shooters. LA can certainly lose this game, but it is my guess it won't be from Stone's perimeter play.

EDIT: LA by 2

Most the time deadly 3pt teams aren't as deadly in state because its harder for shooters to adjust to the arena. I noticed an ineresting fact looking at stone's schedule. Looking at their home and away schedule, Im amazed how much difference there is between their home games and away games scores. They seem to be about a 25pt better team at home. Example of better shooting at home. At LA stone won by 2 and district 8aa tourn mvp Mccoin was out to injury. Stone will definetly be a tough team to beat but on a neutral floor & the way LA is playing I like LA's chances!

Any time two all white teams draw each other at the state, you've got to like your chances. In AA, it means your avoiding Fulton, AE, Carter, and Alcoa from the East. It means your also avoiding downtown Nashville teams and basically all West TN teams. That is a plus in the Boro. Good luck to both of these strong programs.

Stone blew fulton away, and LA beat Tyner to get here & honestly I would have rather these two teams to be in different brackets to see what they can do against some of these other teams. Dont think color will make a difference in the focus of which ever team advances.

You do realize Rowan didn't play in the game at Stone

I agree. It's hard to beat a team three times in a season. But it can be done. ;)

As for the three point line- Stone can be deadly from there, but they don't live and die by the three. This one could come down to who wants it more. I'm leaning toward the Panthers ( but I am biased lol)

you bet I knew! He is one of the best shooters in the state. They definetly didnt need him cause Stone was lights out. LA couldnt buy a bucket partly due to Stone defense and partly just bad shooting. If Stone is on fire (like most their home games) nobody can stay with them. I think it will be a good game.

Stone didn't avoid those teams from the east, that is who they beat in district and region. They beat Fulton in first round of region 93 to 77, then beat AE in the semi's, and beat Alcoa for the second time in the finals. They are a well tested team, having played Bolivar and Liberty this year too.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
