Please don't be so naive. Half of TC's backfield last yr was from Chicago IL & station camp/hendersonville. It happens at publics that win just as frequently as privates with the 1.8 m-plier.

i believe the kid from station camp graduated the year before last. plus that's 2 kids compared to the 6 you named for fcs. yeah, tc may have an acorn fall from the sky every few years, but you know you guys get a pretty sweet deal, even despite the multiplier.

i've said for years on here, give tc a complete open enrollment and a 1.8 multiplier, let us have our pick of all the kids from macon, smith, sumner and wilson. we wouldn't even need to recruit because they'd be knocking down the door to get in for just $500-$1,000 a pop, and we'd be the same as alcoa in 2-3 years.

I don't know coach, but winning state championships in all those sports with only a tiny enrollment? It's not exactly playing with what you got. You need good athletes to win championships. This garbage propaganda about winning with no athletes because of coaching and work ethic isn't legit.

What I'll say is that we do have very good athletes, most transfers come in for more than sports although I can think of one off the top of my head who solely came for sports. He is pitching in the MLB now lol. We also do have very good coaches who instill a great work ethic in the players and I would imagine we work harder than 95% of class A teams in the summer. We get all transfers legit without cheating so I can't help that we play under TSSAA's guidelines.

You may be right snowball. TC's an Alcoa & Maryville type program. Problem is 0 jobs in your Co. Clint or little Napolean can deem TC "open enrollment" anytime he chooses, right? Might even boost the county revenues.

#12 last yr was the station camp transfer in his Jr yr. Your memory must be slipping!

Wrong again my friend. SP has had ONE transfer in the past 20 years that came in and was an impact player. It doesn't happen. The receiver you are talking about was Robert Robinson's brother. He went to school at SP from K through 9th grade. Went and lived with his dad for one year and then came back.

I'll take your word for it since I have no other way of knowing. Y'all are still open zone. Do you know how many kids you've gotten who live closer to MCHS than SP that have made an impact on the team?

#12 was Tarzan... he been here way before his jr yr...heck he sacked Boyd's qb to end the game in the championship when he was a sophomore. Pretty sure he played jr high here to.

I know of one kid on the team that lives closer to Marion. Mama lives in Jasper, daddy and family live in SP. He has went to school an played here his whole life. Now that I think about it, he is the only kid on the roster I know of that lives more than 3-4 miles from school. I guess he lives about 7 miles away.

Friendship doesn't win a state championships last yr if they didn't have a kid from gordonsville and westmoreland!!

Not to mentioned Watertown, mjcs, etc.,

And those kids who transferred from those schools are the only ones from westmoreland, gville, Watertown, MJCS, with "The RING(s)" to show for it. Edited by Volzchamps

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
