TheAmbassador
Sounds like Warbritton is a one man show? Is he the QB? I remember Huntingdon lost several good ones last season. Edited September 23, 2012 by TheAmbassador
oldschoolchamp
So rose has no chance? You guys kill me he's on a 5-1 team in 2a with over 1000 yards rushing! Come on man!!!!

TheAmbassador
AJ Long Jacob Warbritton Demetric Johnson These are the three I would think are front runners. Although, Lankford for SP could have more yards than his backfield partner. I'm not sure which one is the leading rusher.
FNL12
It is early but there are several players beginning to stand out. I agree that Johnson and Langford for South Pitt are solid canidates. The issue I have with Long from FCS is in the big region contest against Gordonsville his team lost and he could not even finish the game. I do believe Gordonsville has 4 canidates and they are QB Payton Watson, RB Kaelin Cason, DT/OT Tyler Coen, DT/OT Cody Payne and LB Brandon McCoy. Coen was a finalist last year and has been dominant again but Cody Payne on the other side has been just as dominant. McCoy is the Heart and Soul of that Defense. If he plays in the Carthage game the outcome is different. Watson is having a great season to this point throwing and running. The surprise is Cason who is averaging 10 yards a carry right now and had big games against very good competition in FCS and Trousdale. I know there are several more around the state that are just as derserving. By week 10 we will all have a better idea who it will be. StangNation12
Watch Jacob Warbritton play and tell me he doesn't deserve Mr. Football. It literally takes the whole team to bring him down. Over 1200 yards and 22 tds? Ridiculous.
FNL12
What is the criteria T$$AA takes in to consideration when choosing the canidates?
TheAmbassador
I agree about the kids from Gordonsville. Gordonsville is the best team in 1A and I fully expect Coen to win the Mr Football linemen award. The other names should be in the hunt as well. Champion1
Warbritton is good but gets the ball a ton and has a significant line.. I think the award should have more to do with than just stats but big game play, blocking,if they play ironman ball, and their all around game . Also does anyone have rushing stats for Hyde out of UC? powerp
They should take competition into consideration. I highly doubt any 1a or 2a school plays tougher games than sp has this year. Signal, Polk county, Knox Grace, and Boyd are all tough ones.
bobcats56
Are awards given for classes 1-6 like the playoffs or are only 3 given for the regular season classes? In 1A Jacob Rugen Clarksville Academy QB is near 1,000 yds passing and nearly 500 yds rushing with 18 total TDs in 6 games.
