Week 7 is upon us and everybody is scrambling to make it into the play-offs. Some are playing for their post season lives while others are playing for seeding purposes. This is where the rubber meets the road. It seems that fourthree and millingtonfan2007 are playing against each other for the top spot of being the 2012 Big Games in Memphis guru. However, dannyq and DHSFB64 aren't too far behind. Let's see what Week 7 has in store for our Memphis-area prognosticators. I've selected 9 games this week. Those nine are as follows:

Game 1: Fri., Oct. 5, (5-2) Arlington (D14-6A) @ (3-2) St. Benedict (D2-AA West)

Game 2: Fri., Oct. 5, (2-4) White Station (D16-6A) @ (7-0) Briarcrest (D2-AA West)

Game 3: Thur., Oct 4, (5-1) CBHS (D2-AA West) @ (3-3) ECS (D2-A West)

Game 4: Fri., Oct. 5, (3-4) Dyer Co. (D13-5A) @ (3-3) Bolton (D14-6A)

Game 5: Fri., Oct. 5, (5-2) Fairley (D16-4A) @ (6-1) Westwood (D16-3A)

Game 6: Fri., Oct. 5, (4-2) Ridgeway (D15-5A) @ (5-1) Houston (D15-6A)

Game 7: Thur., Oct. 4, (3-3) Central (D16-6A) @ (4-2) Manassas (D15-4A)

Game 8: Fri., Oct. 5, (5-1) Trezevant (D15-4A) @ (4-2) Millington (D14-6A)

Game 9: Fri., Oct. 5, (4-2) Germantown (D15-6A) @ (5-1) Southwind (D15-6A)

My Picks:

Game 1: Arlington

Analysis: Both have lost to Briarcrest by allowing 41 points in those games respectively. Both can score a lot of points at times. Arlington is chugging along under Hunter Sheffield as the new QB. Arlington was just my first instinct and I'm not going to over-think this.

Game 2: Briarcrest

Analysis: White Station's back is against the wall. They have the athlete's but Briarcrest is playing superbly. Briarcrest has their share of athlete's as well.

Game 3: CBHS

Analysis: ECS just won't have enough to overcome the Purple Wave.

Game 4:Bolton

Analysis: Bolton is trying to bring back winning to their program. I think they win this game.

Game 5: Fairley

Analysis: Westwood is playing well. i don't think they have enough to beat Fairley however.

Game 6: Ridgeway

Analysis: Houston has improved from last season, but this one won't even be close. Ridgeway has way too much firepower for Houston to even comprehend. Orlando Johnson will have over 150 yards rushing.

Game 7: Manassas

Central is a 6A school with two SEC commitment players on their team. The Central team, however, isn't a quality 6A team. Manassas is a good 4A team that can beat an average to middle 6A team.

Game 8: Millington

Trezevant is a good 4A team. Better then a lot of 5A and 6A teams. They've already beat a good Southwind team. Millington has got to feel like they have been snake bit. Millington pulls this one out at home by the hair on their chinny-chin-chin.

Game 9: Southwind

Which Germantown team shows up? The one that beat Collierville handily or the one that laid an egg against Hendersonville? I'm thinking that Southwind perserveres in this one.

Those are my picks but i have to say that I could waffle on two or three before Thursdays games are played.

Your turn!

kwc, I picked 8&9 just to break the "deadlock of losers"!!!

olddevil you may be on to something. This weeks selection of games has quite a few that aren't clear cut. I'm sitting here contemplating changing two to three of my selections. The Trezevant / Millington game is one of them.
