This one has the makings to be a great game...Austin Lees had 362 all-purpose yards against Huntland and scored five touchdowns...And by now everyone knows about Cascade's Creed Rose. I daresay this one has the makings to be the best meeting between these two teams. Gonna be a good one on Friday night.

Cascade wins this one hands down I don't see Community stopping the Rose kid he's really tough, Moore Co. never stopped him entirely slowed him down some but that was about it, Rose is a star in the making watch out the next two years if he doesn't get hurt ,. He will be a force to reckon with,A one man recking crew.

This normally would have all the makings of a "trap" game for Cascade. Coming off a tough loss to an undefeated Moore County team and facing what has been their biggest district rival over the past seven years in Forrest following this game. The tendency is to overlook a team like Community because they honestly have been pretty bad in years past. This year is an exception, they have a lot of talent and a veteran team. Also have more numbers than in years past. Kenny definitely will not overlook Community. He wouldn't even discuss anything past this game with me Friday night, so I feel he'll have the kids focused on this game. Hopefully homecoming festivities won't interfere with the kids focus. That's always a concern.

Agree Amen.

I think Community will make this closer than people think. Last year with less than 20 players they were tied with Cascade at the half and led most of the game losing by 9. The defense has struggled some but their offense can score with anyone. Will be interesting to see the contrast in styles. Would be worth the ticket price to see the game. Should be competitive.

It takes a few years to get a football program going especially if your school and community have always been focused on basketball and baseball. Community's football program has come a long way in the few short years they have been operating. This year’s team is the best one so far and they have performed well on the field. The one thing lacking is community support... and I don't mean parent or school support that is certainly there. I’m talking about the mindset of the community. The Unionville folks just haven't had enough time to really get excited about football. It takes years for that to happen and it will happen after a generation of two of players graduate and raise a family and their kids start playing.

Having said all this... Cascade wins this one and will continue to denominate the series for several years... but the days will come that Community will be just as much a force to reckon with as they are now in other sports.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
