I’m just wondering what fantasy world your living NashWrestling, Father Ryan only put up six points on JPII what makes you think that they will score 17 on BA?

This game will be over by end of first quarter. If Ryan scores at all it will be against the BA subs. I would love to see a close game but it is not going to happen.

In 2008 BA lost to MUS in DII championship game. That year Ryan beat BA 27 to 23 at the Nashville Sounds baseball field. Prior to that game MBA demolished Ryan 45 to 0. Ryan went 5 and 5 that year and were not very good. So.....football can be a funny game, and 16, 17 and 18 year olds can overlook bad teams when a Ensworth team awaits them.

The key tonights game is can BA coaches keep players focused. Some of those same coaches were on staff in 2008.

But also that year Ryan didn't lose to JPII and Hillwood which they have done this year.

Defensively, most nights you can expect the Irish to move well to the football. They will be considerably smaller but they rarely shy away from contact. On the other side, expect to see a very inconsistent, unconfident, and much too pressing offense. Graham or someone else may make a few plays here and there, but Father Ryan does a very poor job in keeping the drive alive. There are way too many three and outs with this team. But yes they have switched to a wing-t offense this year. So in all likeliness, the defensive will spend the majority of the time on the field.

Also from what I understand there is a growing sense of futility, or even apathy, from many of the players who just want the season the be over with. Psychologically they are very much disadvantaged as the method the coaches use of empahsizing the fact that they are the underdogs makes the players less motivated. Even playing JPII, there is liitle excitement among the players. Quite honestly, they're more concerned about what they are going to be doing after the game than the game itself.

As far as contact goes, Ryan has always played to the whistle and just a little beyond.

Seriously...I've seen Ryan play twice this year. They're short on football players, but have pretty decent athletes. The idea that they lack heart is not what I've observed. They're a little fragile. A couple of bad breaks, and they assume they're beaten. They know what's said about them, and it's become almost an institutionalized belief by now. As a program, they desperately need a few good things to happen to them.

BA wins, 45-7. The Eagles scored 35 points in the second quarter and rode the mercy rule to a dominant win. Max Staver ran for two scores and threw two TD passes. D'Montre Wade ran for a pair of TDs. Ryan didn't muster a first down in the first half, apart from one via a BA penalty.

The Eagles haven't punted in two weeks.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
