EagleEye7777
Wasn't pretty but turned out much better than it could have. Started when a frustrated grandfather having a bad day lobbed a water bottle on the field after the game (waay over the line and totally un called for - mistake 1) regarding some poor officiating. One questionable call gave Silverdale their free kick right in front of the Grace goal which led to the tying goal. The "near-melee" occurred when said grandfather was confronted by one of the opposing team fathers (mistake 2) leading to a pushing and shoving match. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and the tension was diffused avoiding making a bad situation much worse. Following all that, what the paper didn't cover was that both teams and coaches showed a bunch of class and huddled together for a group prayer...a good lesson for all parents! Guess the moral is that "all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God" but thank God for "grace" 0:-)

This should lead to a post-season ban. Edited October 10, 2012 by ChattanoogaCannon
EagleEye7777
Yeah, that would be justice...penalize the kids for a couple out of control parents. C'mon man...just let it go! I know the grandparent that started it all has a has already written letters of apology to both schools...
ChattanoogaCannon
Just saying it has happened before to other teams. I don't really care if you get penalized or not, but maybe an example would help other parents stay in control. I bet you this isn't first time Grandpa acted like an idiot. CHAMPDDS
GPS 4 ND 1 1-1 at half... ND was dominated by GPS the second half .... I was ready for the whistle to blow with 20 minutes left in the game... GPS is only graduating 3 players ( one of those only played this year).... So certainly will return next year as a strong team.... They will do well post season... Edited October 11, 2012 by CHAMPDDS
CHAMPDDS
The suspension ended last friday the 5th. they are sitting out this week as punishment and resume to practice wednesday. Actually heard through the soccer grapevine last night the players were still off until November? Therefore missing the rest of the season ? Was this the original punishment, and they appealed it for lesser time ? D
statechamp88
The original punishment from Hamilton County was in fact 20 days of suspension, With that date the girls would have gone back to school on October 30th. They all went through a 2 appeal processes to go back to school with the last being in front of a Hamilton County Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lee McDade. The girls got to return to school after 10 days of suspension as their punishment, and it was Coach Northcutt and the team that allowed the girls back on the team.
