One thing about it. Its going to be exciting. My gut feeling says that DB wins by whatever they want. I'm just finally glad to see a game coming to get excited about. Best Science Hill team ever? Best DB team ever? Were going to find out next Friday night. Two great offenses. Reed Hayes is putting up some impressive numbers and Foreman is putting on show in every aspect of the game. Thia might set an attendance record at J Fred Johnson this week. I hope for a true test to get ready for the playoffs. I going to predict my score.

DB 63 Science Hill 21. And I would love to have the #1 seed and potentially get a home game for round #3 against Maryville. I just don't know how it will play out. Beating S Hill should give us some points to secure it. ROLL TRIBE

You guys might want to put up another section of mini-me bleachers, that's for sure...and you may be right about the score. But I think we can agree that football is more exciting (at least as far as East TN is concerned) when Science Hill is relevant. Just think of those electric atmospheres during basketball season at both schools even when SH was the obvious favorite.

Just to clear up the playoff implications, which I know we're all concerned about:

DB win = No. 2 seed in quad 1 (Maryville has the edge in the next two playoff standings criteria, so they'll be No. 1 unless they lose to Lenoir City (8-1) this week which, yeah, ain't happening)

SH win = No. 1 seed in quad 1 (SH has the edge on Maryville in those same criteria)

***shouldn't really say "edge", but rather the system favors one over the other...

If SH loses, they'll probably end up with the No. 6 seed. (Not sure about DB, but I'd imagine it would be something similar). In that case SH would probably travel to Oak Ridge. Such a scenario would also set up a potential rematch between SH and DB in Round 2 of the playoffs (oh, goodie...)

A lot on the line for sure in this game, maybe the most ever for a regular season DB vs SH game.Every chink in a teams armor will be shown from this point on.I seen something in last nights game that needs a little work this week for the Tribe.Volunteer didn't have the speed to exploit DB's kickoff team, but there were running lanes that opened up for a team that has good speed. That's really won't matter if DB get's to kickoff 10 or 12 times a game, but it is something to work on.I expect both teams to move the ball next week and put up some points.I look for SH to bring everyone up close and force DB to throw the ball.I don't care what the final score is from next week on,as long as DB has the most points.I predicted a 44 point spread last night and it was 43.I'll take six victories by one point, but you also play them one at a time.DB 35-SH 34

DB outscored their first 5 opponents 249-75 not exactly shoot outs but the competition managed to score. The last 4 games DB outscored their opponents 261-24 and recorded 3 shut-outs. Science Hill seemed to try and flex their offensive muscle last night on Tennessee High, kind of seemed like they were trying to send a message by outscoring the tribe, then again almost 50 was hung on Science Hill's defense. So it might lead one to believe DB had the better defense but Science Hills passing strength plays right against DBs weakness. As far as Science Hill stopping the four horsemen; it's not gona happen but emotions will be high in this game and big swings are bound to happen. It's the biggest game of the year in NET and it's no mystery to anyone i'm sure all the players will be ready for this one.

YOU KNOW ALL THAT IS GOOD AND FINE BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RUN UP AGAINST A TEAM THAT PLAYS SMASH MOUTH - IN YOUR FACE DEFENSE - ITS GOOD TO HAVE CHALLENGES THROUGH THE YEAR - THIS IS WHY MARYVILLE IS SO GOOD - THEY PLAY REALLY GOOD TEAMS THROUGH THE YEAR - WHY DOESNT DB MAN UP AND PUT SOME OF THE BIG BOYS ON THERE SCHEDULE LIKE THE KNOXVILLE TEAMS ????????? COULD HELP WITH THAT POST SEASON PROBLEM YOU GUYS HAVE!

This game won't be close. SH is very weak on defense and has progressively gotten worse as the season has worn on. They leave way too many open lanes on the perimeter which is an absolute nightmare against DB's speed. If your prediction on a 6 seed is correct, their season will end in the K'ville area. Honestly I'm not sure they would be a top 5 team out of that district. SH has got to start scheduling teams out of the area in addition to developing more kids instead of leaving starters in and scoring with seconds on the clock. Last night was very troubling and I believe they will finish the year with back to back losses. A lot of SH's yards come on big plays because of number 11's feet and arm but that won't work against top 6A defenses like it does against the local talent level which is way, way down. Hard nosed teams advance in 6A playoffs and I think DB may have a decent chance to make some noise this year. I hope it is a good game this Friday but I just don't see it.

I think we can all agree that the SH Defense is lacking. The question is can SH move the ball and keep pace with DB. I know the DB faithful have been concerned about their secondary. We saw last night that McGue or Webster just needs a little space, and Reed can get the ball to them. Another poster mentioned DB leaving some open lanes on kickoff coverage. SH has a couple of speedy returners that may be able to exploit that.

Having said all of that, I'll be the first to admit that SH faces an extremely tough task in coming out of Kingsport with a W. It may well get ugly, but heck, stranger things can happen.

At this rate, we're going to have gone over all of the X's and O's by Monday. We'll have nothing left to do but call each other names the rest of the week icon_mrgreen.gif

Just in case you just woke up from a comma. We have 8 conference games the TSSAA says we have to play. One of those games will be Science Hill this friday night. Undefeated and ranked # 6 in 6A. We've already played and beat Sevier Co. who has a record of 8-1 with that lone defeat comming against DB. Both of those teams are "Big Boys". The only other slot in the schedule is Clinton who when we agreed to play them was one of the best 5A teams in the state. They have fallen off lately but thats not our fault. If you want to complain about our schedule complain to the TSSAA. That would make all DB fans happy. We would love to be play against better competion.

Well maybe im the only one worried about this one. I don't see DB running away with it. Science Hill can match up with DB's speed pretty well, probably much better than Sevier Co. did. This will be easily the best QB and receiver's we have faced this year, and our secondary is very weak. I look for SH to be over 300 yrds passing against us. Another thing that just popped up last night. What the heck was that? It almost looked like Clark is packing it in early this year. Very weird play calling and use of players. What he may have done last night was put a little chink in the confidence of the team and killed momentem going into the biggest game of the year. I hope im wrong but thats the way I see it.
