That's 28 locations in 4 years, or 7 unique hosts per year. They broadcast games from nine different counties during that time span. "The same places he goes every year" = all over East Tennessee.

Well said. I am just thankful that this is offered in the area. Can't please everybody.

yes they have PROMOTED hs football in this area, but in no way have they "advanced" the sport. I've been here since 1975 and from what I've seen high school football around here hasn't needed an "advancement". their effort and interest in high school sports should be commended but no Lindsey Nelson or other broadcasting award is appropriate.

I wonder where PackMan and his rag-tags will wind up this week???

I really see no scenario where Maryville or Alcoa will let them on their campuses this Friday!

Thoughts?

I figured they'd try to head over to Maryville or Alcoa, but from what I've heard, that's likely not going to happen. I'm guessing they'll cover either Coalfield-Greenback or Boyd Buchanan-Grace.

They are doing the DB at Maryville game.

I would be very surprised to see them at Maryville. The way they take over the press box.. and stay in the way on the sideline is not very well accepted by several schools.....and one that I am well aware of. I doubt they want this distraction for this game. May be wrong through.....

Packer and Price announced it on their Locker Room Show last night. They are coming.

"Take over the press box." "Stay in the way on the sideline." I suppose these schools would rather not get live TV coverage? I'm sorry, but some people are pretty ungrateful.

The reality of live TV is that it takes a lot of people and a large setup to produce an effective broadcast. The intrusion is the price schools pay for getting great exposure. Most have been very willing to pay it, because they're grateful a TV station is willing to give them air time. You don't find a broadcast of this quality in many markets Knoxville's size.

Like them or not, Austin and Packer have done more to advance East Tennessee prep football coverage than anyone on this message board.

Sure, add that word in there. It still underscores the point I'm trying to make -- the Rivalry Thursday broadcasts have given kids, coaches and programs a great spotlight. Having minor qualms with their broadcasts is just fine -- nobody's perfect. But those who resent or insult their work come across as spoiled and entitled.
