Who the Heck is LEAD Academy? New to 10A.

Ok who has the 411 on LEAD Academy...

Charter school out of Nashville. Should provide some interesting challanges for 10-A.

Where will they play their home games>? Where do the students/players come from mainly>? Inner city kids or do they come from all over>? Interesting that they were put in 10A any input on that.

Their home games will be played at Fisk University. Majority inner city kids or should we say students that qualify for free and reduced lunch. And I think it was the only district that would work geographically since they only have about 200 students I think.

Read somewhere that this is the first year to include high school at LEAD and that there are only 9th graders. True or not?

Not true. They started with 9th graders two years ago. The first year they did a co-op for freshman ball. They started with JV basketball last year. They now have 9th, 10, and 11th. Lead Academy is a charter school.

Basketball is the only sport I know of that they compete in as a school. They co-op for other sports.

Their middle school team competed in a tournament this weekend in Murfreesboro. They have some pretty good athletes. If that is any indication they may have a decent high school team

Heritage 44-31. Heritage did not play well, but I see a team that is better than last year. LEAD will win some games in this District.
