Beech vs Gallatin for the region title

Didn't realize Gallatin had a running back out for this game.

If I were Beech on offense, I would try to hit the big play, or the threat of the big play, early. I believe Beech must score first and take the lead, keep the lead and make Gallatin do things in the 2nd half they don't like to do.(throw the ball) Get Gallatin out of their comfort zone. If they try to slug it out with the Wave it will be a long, cold nite.

I also believe both teams need to stay on some type of an even keel. While this game is important and means a region title, it is not a playoff game. The loser of this game could still be crowned state champs. Teams getting too hyped up now are a 1st round upset waiting to happen. ;)

Dandy,

If there is a game, then Gallatin is going to be hype. You can bet on that! I don't see that as a bad thing. Gallatin is going to be hyped up tonight and for every other game from here on out. That is the way it is, has been and always will be. I don't think the hypeness of this game will have any effect on next week or any other week!

I just don't know about that Gtowner. It is very difficult to get up for game after game. One of the things about highschool football is emotion. I would hate to win this game and then let Centennial come up to Gallatin and put it on us.

From what I heard on the radio, it seems that a key to tonights game maybe the afore mentioned " take Johnson out of the game". Not with injury just stopping his running ability. Getting us to throw the ball when we don't want to would be a huge advantage for the Bucs. Special teams may be the key. Meadows and Co have the advantage. Gallatin will have to step up tonight.

This will be a great game. Go Green Wave!!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
