Well, Im pulling for Pwell. They have gotten better each week under the new coaching staff, and their defense is outstanding. Also, this team played in the state championship game last year and they wont be in awh of anyone or any place. Of course this is JMO, and hoping a District3AAA team can bring home a Gold Ball. Go POWELL!!!

I wasn't surprised by Powell's regular season, other than the close call at Campbell County, but their run in the playoffs has been a bit eye opening to me. After the coaching change and the loss of several very good players as well as a couple marquee types, I expected the Panthers to be out of the picture by now. But it appears they are more team oriented this year and that has propelled them past the lose of the graduated talent. Powell is still talented no doubt, just missing the marquee type player of the past few years. Good luck Panthers, hope you get a shot at the gold ball in Cookeville :thumb:

Why is Powell going to Columbia? Crazy, Just like Maryville going to Segal....

If two schools are the same seed, in odd-numbered years, the top team in each bracket shall be the host team. In even-numbered years, the bottom team in each bracket shall be the host team.

It'll never happen, but in the future, I would love to see a neutral site used in a situation like this. A lot of states use neutral sites for late round playoff games. Based on our current format, it could only happen in semifinal games, but TSSAA would never go for it because they would lose $$$, especially in a game like this one (Cookeville is probably the halfway point).

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
