SS, I don't remember asking if it bothered anybody, so maybe you need to chill on telling people what to do. I've heard a lot of good things about a lot of kids and I can promise you that I personally know more of them and their capabilities then you or OR Nole. As far as being a proud parent I can guarantee your not the only one who's kids are being expected to contribute, but you don't see them on her saying my son this my son that.

Catswild, you don't have to worry about him speaking his mind, from what I've heard the Jefferson parents constantly heard it.

This is very disappointing. I just reviewed all 65 pages of this thread. Yes, I have been too enthusiastic about my kid, but in most instances it was replying to someone else's comment or question. I have been the one to give the most praise to the other upcoming freshman so obviously I know that MANY are expected to contribute. As for promising to know more than me or SS. I hope this is regarding the team and program as a whole. No one knows the upcoming freshmen better than I do. I have been heavily involved since they were five years old. I study this group. The HUGE disappointment is there are only about five guys that really know this group very well and I consider them all to be good friends. I truly hope I am not getting called out by a friend instead of being told privately to just chill.

"Catswild, you don't have to worry about him speaking his mind, from what I've heard the Jefferson parents constantly heard it"- - - - -If you or the parents you talked to know anything about me, you would know I RARELY even speak at a game and watch practices with only two close friends. I am not guilty of this. I think you should reconsider sources.

For everyone's sake and just common decency, this is over for me. No hard feelings, just a new day. I will continue to comment on the cats as a whole. Many of them nearly live at my house (not just the freshmen), I am close with some coaches and boosters and other parents so I may have some information here and there to contribute.

Personally, i really enjoy your posts, Nole. I hope you continue to post on here. You have a lot of good info, especially concerning the younger kids, which is fine with me. They're the future of the program.

Don't let one opinion shut you down. You're a true wildcat fan and proud of your "pup". That's very normal. Some people are jealous.

Thanks. As for a true Wildcat fan, we did not miss a home or away game for years, my sons were always at picture day, they used to be the only ones at away games to pat the players on the shoulder pads as if they were at home, my tiny little boys would call in when Stanton would take a few calls, a few players from the 2005 team would call the house on Sat mornings to check on my boys games and talk about the night before and so on and so on and so on. One last "pup story". Chase has an 8" x 10" Birthday Card with seperate pictures of him and Gulmire, Scott McMahon, and JJ Wells. It says "Happy 6th Birthday, Chase Kimbro, Future Wildcat Linebacker" signed by twenty-six players and coaches.. Six freakin' years old. He has had the Wildcat mascot painted on his bedroom wall since he was little. He wasn't born here, but no one ever wanted more to be a Wildcat or put the time and effort in to get there. YES, I AM EXTREMELY PROUD and appreciate the interest the community (not just Coach T) has put into my son. Higgens and a few otherupcoming freshmen get the same attention. I just happen to be a poster on this board.

Now, I am finally done with my soapbox. Let's get back to the new and improved, Joe Gaddis lead ORHS Wildcat Football discussions.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
