Who do you guys think the State Champions for each class will be this year?

i dont agree with galatin for 5A cause the almost lost to smyrna. i think anyone could win 5A

Here are my predictions as to who will win the gold ball in each classification:

 

1A: Ezell over Cloudland---AGAIN

 

2A: Tyner over Huntington

 

3A: Whoever survives Region 2: Fulton, AC, or AE over Covington

AC--its great to run with the HERD!!

 

4A: Maryville over Melrose

 

5A: Riverdale over Brentwood

 

Div 11A: B Byrne over FACS

 

Div 11AA: BGA over Briarcrest

 

Div 111AA: Brentwood Academy over McCallie

I believe Melrose is inelegible this year.

If Melrose is indeed ineligible, I'll just switch that to Hillsboro to withstand all the heat in the west to make the finals!! Thanks dandy for the info. If you are indeed correct, I'll give you a good mark for bringing that to my attention!!

Sorry, Answer 9,Melrose was inelegible last year. Thought it was a 2 year probation, but it was only one.

4A. Hillsboro(Too physical and speedy for Maryville)

5A. Oakland (Eye opener maybe, but dont count them out)

1A - Cloudland: dont know much about them, but I wanted to choose someone other than Ezell!!

 

2A - Goodpasture: only loss came to a tough Brentwood Academy squad

 

3A - Trousdale County: a good team that I think should win it this year!!

 

4A - Maryville/Hillsboro: I would like to see something new, but hey what can I do??

 

5A - Germantown/Brentwood: I don't think Riverdale will go as far this year and I really believe Brentwood can do it!! But 5A is really to close to call!!

Metsdude, I too believe Brentwood is good enough to challenge for a spot in the finals, but they are in the West bracket, so they can't play Germantown in the Blue Cross Bowl, only in the Semis. I believe, however, that those two teams are the best in the state, so Riverdale gets the nod from the East thanks to a slightly weaker group of teams. This is unfortunate, but we can still look forward to some thrillers when the playoffs roll around.
