Something like that. They're still competitive but definitely not anywhere near what they were. Coach Sims does a good job. But JC and CR are definitely the two big dogs.

I watched CR in the White Co tourney. They're good. I don't see how they lost to McMinn County, but upsets happens all the time. I would love to watch them and JC play. Should be some great games between the two.

When JC travels to Clarkrange you should make the trip up it will be worth the price of admission i promise you that!

Just curious as to how and who makes the nominations for Mr and Ms Basketball and the method for deciding the winner? Is it totally based on stats, coaches voting, etc? Just curious

Makenzie Hensley of Jackson County is being mentioned as a possible finalist, her sister Marissa was a finalist for Miss Basketball in 2004. How many sisters have both been finalist I wonder?

I have observed over the years that an under classman that is State Champion Tourney MVP, is an automatic nominee. Good stats and good press coverage is a big help. A kid that carries a team and helps them win through the season and through the sectional tourney run is a good prospect. Off the court things may be considered, grades,etc.There have been nominees whos team didn't make it to state. I think the final voting happens a few days before the State Tourney starts.

Abby Sissom was nominated last year as a sophomore because of the exposure she got from playing in the tourney her freshman year, also. I wonder if she is in the AA discussion this year, especially after dropping 43 on a talented Cookeville squad...

 

Also, devilfanatic, I definitely will make the trip up if DeKalb happens to not have a game!

I'm going with Hensley and Coe from JC and Raby. Who wins out of those 3, who knows. Just my opinion.
