I'm saying Mullins cares more about Mullins than anything, including any sport, coach, student, or employee. SS, we have agreed on almost everything on here, trust me on this one. He's scared to death to hire anyone that could do parts of his job better than him. Very insecure.

Why would he be worried of a coach doing a better job of being AD then him? Isn't a coaches job to be AD. Not saying your wrong.

He's scared of anything that makes him "show his cards". If he hires someone that's competent, well spoken, well liked, and capable of making decisions, Mullins will have to step up and make some all by himself, thats what he's scared of. As of right now, he just imposes his authority making small decisions (many are silly as well), or making decisions behind the scenes and leaving Goins to take responsibilty and clean up the mess.

I don't understand...Why would the AD at a place not do something that would be great for the program? Does he want the program to be bad or something? lol Just makes no sense to me why an AD wouldn't want the team and program to be good?

 

its an ego thing man, thats all it is .. people want to do things their way even if its the wrong way... like gregory at wb... he kept calling the same plays and running the same scheme even though they were losing games...

Well, Smallridge is acting superintendent right now. He is the man who hired Gaddis the 1st time around. I'm gonna holdout hope that they will find somebody good. Keep an eye on Ron Gray. Saw him @ the basketball game Tuesday, and have seen him at a lot of OR functions lately. He loves the Wildcats.

I wouldn't put anything into that, Blade was at a few basketball games also. Must be one of their teacher duties. Also Gray's son is on the freshman team.

He will never make that call for the reasons 3wiggle described. He knows who he wants and would rather have a guy with no prior head coaching experience than get someone who can get the whole community behind the program. I'm not sure we can ever get this program back to the glory days that we all remember and want but Smokin Joe can get it back close to how it was and QUICK.

Mullins will not do the right thing. Many in this town would support bringing Gaddis back. But Mullins will probably try to push his ole buddy Gray into the job.
