Not sure Hogan may know more but maybe the money due to teaching at a Wilco school?

Maybe promise of AD role as well?

The team 2013 \ will have 2 Future SEC players ( one verbally commuted to UT ) other I think 5 SEC teams offered

Heard QB will be a really good one along with some good RB coming up the ranks..

From what I heard small o and d line all underclassmen and not deep ...

Heard soph team went undefeated - but Indy has been hit hard and swill and start to feel the effects of the new high school that just opened few years ago

Also got spanked very badly in the 1st round of the 2012 playoffs with all those star athletes - 52-22 and had 2 TD's vs them called back!

An interested bystander - will the job at Oak Ridge be an inside job? Would someone from outside the district - qualified, interested, engaging - have a shot at the job?

If our AD has his way it will be a totally inside job with his friend getting the job. If he could hire him today he would. Our AD won't want anyone charismatic, motivational, energetic, dynamic or magnetic to even apply for this job and he sure won't call anyone like that or seek them out. As long as our AD thinks he can control the new coach then the applicant has a shot. This administration fears a resurgence of the football glory days here in OR.

I think you are absoutely correct that's why his "friend" is on the coaching staff now. Oh wait...

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the conspiracy theories seem a little over the top.

Good thing there are only the three guys on this thread that think that way. By the way, Wiggle, if you know all you think you do...you must be on staff at ORHS. If you are you need to be fired for popping off about your bosses. If not, don't pretend to know the administration. Edited by Soxfan1

Why would someone not want a strong football pforgram? OR was once a power in Tennessee - why not a return to that with a really good coach?

TJT don't take these guys seriously. They live in the 70's and 80's and still think OR is a thriving community. Of course the administration wants a great football program. They just need a community with athletes and a bigger school than everyone else.

I do know what I'm talking about and if these dumb%^%$ knew who I was, then there would def. be a price to pay.....It's political, remember.

It's not some crazy conspiracy guys, just a small man who is having way too much influence on the athletic program. I promise you, Mullins would not hire a coach like Gaddis, he just can't compete.

If you think theres not enough athletes in the halls to compete at an elite level, how did Blade get it done? The talent is there, more than what was on the field this year even. Oak Ridge just needs a coach that can work with some of these kids who would play if Oak Ridge had a motivational coach. That was Blades only weakness. That type of powerful pesonality is what Oak Ridge needs.

I don't get some of you guys. Why in the HE** would our administration not want us to return back to our greatness. Makes absolutely no sense to me and is a crock of sh** if you ask me. Think about what your saying here. A person or people that work for the city schools in particular the athletic dept and doesn't want the sports to thrive? Some of y'all amaze me. Why don't ya'll go get the jobs done. Seems like you know everything there is to know. 3Wiggle, ridgeruuner...like both of you guys, but personally i think the both of you have some kinda personal vendetta against Mullins. Get off coacht boards if you know so much and get something done that will help the situation out instead of getting on here demeaning and placing judgment on a certain person with every msg you write.

So who is the AD? Is it this Mullins you keep referring to? How long has he been there? What is his background? Did he coach? Did he coach football? And still nobody has answered my question - would someone from the outside have a chance at the job or will it be a current staff member appointment to the HC position? Lots of good coaches will be interested in this particular job - from all over the state.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
